“Ridiculously small portions and ridiculously expensive for what you get.”

I've been looking forward to eating at talisker for a while especially after reading all the great reviews. What a disappointment. My wife ordered the "salad" which was basically a bunch of bitter weeds with no dressing or taste. The worst part was the slices if apple that we both almost simultaneously agreed tasted like soap! The portions are actually laughable. This place is all about perception. They literally have two people that "garnish" each dish very meticulously. I've been to a lot of very nice restaurants and I've never seen it done to this level. After we got our main entree it all made sense. The garnishments make the dishes look larger than they really are if that's even possible cause these things are tiny. Yes, the lamb was good but I would have preferred more than three bites. I literally feel like I paid $150 for nothing. After "dinner" my wife and I just went to No Name Saloon for a burger. I've never written a review before but that's how disappointing this experience was. I would never go back nor recommend talisker to anyone.

“Outstanding”

We enjoyed New Year's Eve at Talisker on Main. Every course was delighful. The chef bent over backwards to accomodate my wife who doesn't eat beef. The service was most attentive. The wine list while not as extensive as some restaurants offers superb offerings in every categoryat acceptable prices.

Nice restaurant. Food good. Not great. Scallops app very good. Lamb and short rib entre good plus. But still starving. Ordered carrot cake for desert. Cake was 1 inch wide. 3 inches long. One inch high. Not joking. Seriously. Not joking

“Very tight beautiful menu”

Charming restaurant. Maybe 5 starter and 5 entree choices. Expensive of course, the staff is excellent. Leon, our server, was smooth and his wine suggestions were spot on. Reserve 3 to four weeks ahead, more for large parties.

“Pretentious empty suit...”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

That is how to describe this restaurant! What a waste of time, money and a good dinner elsewhere. The ingredients were local but lacked flavor and innovation! Service from the front desk to server, busser and manager took themselves way too serious. The joke was on me. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone!
