We are former locals and come back for most of every winter. Our favorite place to ski (hands down) is Deer Valley. In fact, after almost every visit I exclaim, 'that was the BEST ski day of my life!' and I totally mean it. From the minute you drive up, the attendants rush to greet you with a huge smile and welcome and whisk your equipment off to await your return from the parking lot. Parking is plentiful and easy with a shuttle to the base if you want to save your legs.Changing rooms are large and comfortable with free boot and glove warmers and self and full serve locker areas. Everything is convenient and right at your fingertips. Two bonuses: no snowboarders (although I realize that may not be a bonus to all) and limited ticket sales. Total bummer if you get shut out from a ticket due to the number of skiers they allow on the mountain, but awesome if you are one of the lucky ticket holders that do get in. We were able to buy our tickets for the next day after 3pm and didn't make that mistake again. Our fave side of the mountain is Northside with a new high speed lift and very few people, we often ski our fave runs (Jordannelle, Mountaineer) by ourselves (killer blues). No matter where you eat you will pay higher prices than in town but you are at Deer Valley and the quality will knock your socks off. We love to have lunch at Stein Erickson's lodge and sitting on the patio next to a fire pit is the ultimate end to a great day. There are runs for the whole family, lots of hidden stashes of powder, and runs to challenge even the most expert skiers in your group. Deer Valley is heaven on earth.

I've been to all three resorts in Park City and we loved Deer Valley the best! They have numerous green runs which is perfect for our family. Tried a couple blue runs and noticed they have quite a few blue, too. Awesome staff: everyone was very friendly. President's Weekend isn't a great time to go because it was so very busy. However, I would highly recommend this destination for those skiers trying to get better on green runs and for those making a transition to blue runs.

1. Consider buying your ski pass on-line if you are arriving on a busy day, as the resort will close sales when "full".
2. If you are day tripping, park your car in the lot, put on your boots, and "jitney" to the resort. Another option is to drive to the drop-off area, leave your skiis, park and boot up and then take the jitney ... both ways are very fast.
3. If you are staying for 2 days, you can leave your skiis overnight for free.
4. Plan on lunch at before 11:30 or after 1:30, as the restaurants do fill up quickly.
5. Consider stopping by the St. Regis for a hot chocolate.
6. Don't pre-judge this resort. There are lots of intermediate trails and many wider trails that have little bumps and larger bumps that one can practice on. So, you can ski the same trail with someone and have different experiences.

Five days, four of them skiing. Stayed at Trail's End at SnowPark base. Great conditions, no lines, excellent service everywhere. No better ski only resort.

I love everything about the place. From the groomed slopes, to the no snowboarding policies, to the polite & helpful lift operators and the modern lifts with footrests. So nice to relax your feet on the way up.
The children's ski school/program is superb. We keep returning to Deer Valley not only because we love the mountain but because of the superior ski school program they have for our grandkids.

I also took advantage of the no more than 4 students policy on the group adult lessons and really got a lot out of my class.
