“Best for skiers of all levels - no boarders!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

We skied both Deer Valley and Canyons this trip. We all agreed that next year we would only ski Deer Valley. The main reason is the ski conditions are so much better for skiers when you don't have boarders scraping off the snow. I don't mind boarders - my son's board - I just don't like the mountain being scraped off in three foot swatches.

There are several runs clustered around lifts - all the runs we went on were plenty wide and the lifts fast and got us to the top easily. We liked taking the Success run at the end of the day and looking at all the wood carved animals at the houses. The only part we didn't like was the poling necessary to get over to the Quincy lift. We found the runs to have a great variance of slope - plenty to challenge and plenty to cruise when you got tired at the end of the day.

We liked that the locker room had free heaters for mittens and boots.

The food at the Empire Lodge was excellent. I liked the make your own salad bar.

“Customer Service ROCKS.”

It is hard to go wrong at DV. The grooming is excellent, the lift operators friendly and the food outstanding whether it is afternoon or evening dining in their many restaurants.

“Great hill, lift ticket system very poor”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

Lots of groomed trails but also lots of bumps, sking was great. As they are not computerized it was a pain to hike up the hill to the next condo unit, Shooting Star, in our ski boots to get our lift tickets validated. We were staying at Silver Strike condo which was ski in and ski out. The lift opertaor right outside our condo would not let us ride the lift up to ski down to the lift ticket office even though we had already purchsed our 5 day lift pass and showed it to him. It was most annoying and did not seem in sync with the supposed high end of DV. As we had a 5 of 7 day pass we had to repeat ths process everyday, quite annoying and unnecessary. DV needs to fix this.

“the country club of skiing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013

Surprisingly Deer Valley isn't that much more expensive than other local ski resorts. It is even cheaper in January due to low volume. Deer Valley only sells so many passes a day, so it is never too busy. There is a lot of terrain. There are also lots of lifts. The runs are long and wide.

“Best service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013

It had been several years since we had skied at Deer Valley. After the first day I was reminded how much I love this ski resort-- Their dedication to customer service and satisfaction is second to none. Everyone was friendly and seemed to enjoy their job and made us feel very welcome. Hope we get to return soon!
