“Experience of a lifetime for newlyweds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

I booked this room as a gift for my sister-in-law's honeymoon. She said it was the perfect way to start her marriage. The staff all acknowledged her and her husband as newlyweds and congratulated them. A welcome gift of chocoate-dipped strawberries was provided from the chef. The room was fantastic, with beautiful views. The only problem is that now my wife expects me to take her here - which I will gladly do in the very near future.

My fiance and I loved this hotel. The service was excellent and our rooms were spacious and comfortable (the beds were a dream to sleep in!). The only downer for us was that we were skiing at Snowbird and Alta for much of our trip, so the location was a bit far. It was well worth it, however! Rather than going out to dinner every night, we went out only once as the kitchen was great and so preferred cooking in and sitting by our cozy fireplace to heading out in the cold and snow. I would recommend it as a place to stay to anyone! You will not be disappointed.

Good Day. Thank you for taking the time to critique our great resort. We are glad you enjoyed the stay. One of the greatest aspects of staying in the Park City valley is the easy access to so many great ski resorts. We look forward to having you back as our guests soon. All the best.

What a beautiful hotel! Clean, new and great service. Since it is shoulder season, the property was empty. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen. Gorgeous! Of course, the price was 10% of the winter price. The staff was very nice and quick. The issue was the food..... Room service breakfast the first day was cold. We had to put it in the microwave. The next day, we decided to eat in the restaurant. It was still pretty weak. It was nowhere near our expectations for a property this nice and high end. We would try some restaurants in Park City. (Just not Grappa) Another interesting part to the story...we asked for s'mores by the firepit. They quickly brought a large quantity. Next thing I knew, another guy and his family showed up. They said "they told us that there were more than enough smores for us down here." They proceeded to crowd in and "share" our s'mores! Huh! It would be better if the hotel was a little more upfront that the s'mores were for sharing or bring out smaller portions to personalize it more. I didn't mind sharing, but the way it was done was annoying. The other family was annoying too.

Service here was top notch. Valets (especially Chris) went over and beyond to help make coming and going with a small child very easy. Our experience with the entire staff was enjoyable, and everyone was friendly, perhaps with the exception of one person in the restaurant - the hostess was fine but a bit cold. The pool and courtyard are gorgeous, with nice views. The ski prep room is very convenient, and the staff there was great. Very convenient if you're skiing at the Canyons, and a quick drive to downtown Park City - maybe 5-10 min.

Stayed during a recent trip to SLC due to the great off season rate - less expensive than downtown hotels even with the $25 resort fee. The resort fee is actually a good deal as it includes valet parking, phone and internet. Staff was top notch from the valet and bellman out front to the front desk staff and restaurant staff. We were always offered complimentary bottled water everytime we left and returned. Congierge called a few days before our stay to offer their services. Stayed in a king suite which is actually a one bedroom condo. Fully equiped kitchen with Viking appliances, fireplace in living and bed rooms, balcony and comfy bed. Excellent food and service in the hotel restaurant. Can't think of a thing I would have changed!

Went snowskiing at Deer Valley and stayed at the Waldorf Astoria. The heated pool and hot tubs were very nice. We feel in love with the hotel bed, very plush and comfy. The staff were okay. The valet were excellent. The front desk sucked, way to stuffy and not attentive. Room service was excellent. There was only one restaurant and it was very good.

Room Tip: The courtyard side was goregeous. Especially at night with the pool and hot tubs glowing with light...

First, the hotel is gorgeous. I got a crazy good deal, so I assume I had the lowest category room, but it was still great--gas fireplace, balcony, wet bar, big tub. The pool is large and has lots of lounge space; unfortunately, there were groups of children yelling at the top of their lungs (I'm all for joyous play, but this isn't your backyard pool). There is a fire pit by the pool with s'mores supplies, which was fun. I had dinner solo at the bar of Slopes by Talisker, and the food was awesome. The list of wine available by the glass was excellent, and the bartender was great. I only wish the hotel was in Deer Valley, not Canyons, which I don't really care for. (My feeling is, if you want pampered skiing, go to DV; if you want challenging skiing, go to Snowbird/Alta.) All in all, a great hotel.
