Waldorf Astoria Park City

Enjoyed a 2-night summer stay in a 3-bedroom, two-story suite. It is great having a Waldorf in Utah. As the brand has expanded over the last few years to cities such as Orlando, Puerto Rico, etc., the Park City location brings a mountain-charm without it being overwhelming.

Check-in is personable with desks and plush chairs vs. a separated counter. The lobby feels personal with its large hearth and ample seating. Complimentary coffee and tea in the mornings is also a nice welcome amenity.

The rooms are tastefully furnished. Luxurious fireplaces, plush bedding with high thread count sheets and large bathrooms make this a great retreat. Twice per day housekeeping and turn down service are important touches and a Waldorf signature. Having a full-size kitchen with Viking appliances was my favorite part! The Waldorf is now considered a home away from home.

The pool area is very well maintained and the bar/cabana service is top notch. The Waldorf could afford to add additional chaises, umbrellas and lounge chairs but other than this, no complaints. Because the rooms surround the pool, it closes fairly early.

Golden Door Spa as well as the gym onsite are fantastic. New equipment, exceptionally trained staff and a wide array of unique treatments make the Waldorf Astoria Park City worth a visit.

The only complaints about this property could be:

1. The mandatory resort fee is a bit ridiculous, especially for a Gold or Diamond HHonors member. The fee covers valet parking, daily newspaper, internet and facilities access. Gold members get FREE internet, gym access, newspapers. We should at least be charged less, if only to cover valet.

2. The Waldorf is on the outskirts of Park City. It lies directly between Kimball Junction which connects you to the Salt Lake Valley and Main Street Park City/Deer Valley. If you have a rental car or don't mind delayed shuttles, this property is beautiful and worth the short drive.

Room Tip: If staying several days, upgrade to at least a deluxe room so you have a kitchenette. The residences...

We stayed at the Waldorf fior three nights. We were upgraded to a suite which was the nicest room(s) I have ever stayed in. Two master suites, a full kitchen with professional appiances, 4 fireplaces - one out on the balcony, 5 flat screen tv's, a livingroom, dining area and washer and dryer. WOW! The grounds are exceptional and people in the hotel were extremely friendly and professional. i would highly recommend this to anyone wanting someplace special to stay. My only regret is that all future stays at other hotels will be a disappointment when i compare it to the Waldorf.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with my wife and two daughters (ages 7 and 4) for 1 night in Oct.

Wonderful stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. willing to do anything. accomodated my request for an Upgrade, offered bottled water while waiting. etc

Rooms were wonderful. A fireplace in every room. First class appliances, spacious bathrooms, best bed I've ever slept on in a hotel.

Pool was perfect. Kids didn't want to leave. Despite cold weather, pool temp was perfect. 2 hot tubs were great too.

We went to main street for dinner and breakfast via the hotel shuttle. No problems. Nice to not worry about parking or driving if you don't want to. the drivers/staff were very friendly and helpful. 1st class.

Resort fee of $25 p/night is a little much. espcially when paying $200+ per night, If I stayed a week it would be more annoying than it was for just one night.

Hotel was quiet, despite being at 70% capacity. I loved everything about this hotel and 100% recommend it and will return in the future. If you are staying in Park City - this place is a must.

Room Tip: Get a suite. Full kitchen, extra bathroom, Worth the cost.

This was our fifth visit since they opened under the old name of Dakota Mountain Lodge. It still amazes us how lovely and gracious EVERYTHING is! We checked in, went to another place for a few days in another part of Utah and re-checked back in. Took all of 5 minutes. Rooms and suites are enormous. The staff sends up 'welcome back' homemade chocolate chip cookies every time you arrive. They know your name, service of the rooms is incredible and the units are bigger than some condos. We have skiied here in the past and also spent two summer holidays here, all are wonderful. If there is any complaint it would be the lack of basic food in the restaurant which is now under new management. The hotel is now owned by Talisker Group in Toronto and with new ownership feel that the restaurant will change (and in fact it is NO LONGER THE SPRUCE) but the menu will become more user friendly. There is a 35.00 a day resort fee which is becoming more and more the norm in most resorts but covers almost everything. The nice part about being here for us is you can from Thursday to Sunday drive up l0 minutes, take the gondola and be hikking in gorgeous territory. Winter the same, or simply drive over to Park City Resort or Deer Valley and ski. Great place to relax and if you want to just stay in one day, just sit by the fireplace in the vast lobby or the two in your suite. You will love this place. RTD

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. The property was amazing. Very well maintained property with a great ambiance. This was off season which sometimes means you get second-rate service or quality. Not so at the Waldorf. The only exception was the restaurant which I will do a separate review for so as not to malign the hotel.

I totally agree with all the previous posts. Because it is the "off-season", we also got a really good rate. The Waldorf staff is great, and the accommodations were amazing. I especially loved the fireplace! (living on the Gulf Coast, we don't get to use our fireplaces very often). We were only there for one night, but wish it could have been longer. The bed and linens were fabulous, as well as the other room amenities. The hotel grounds are beautiful; outdoor fire-pit by the pool area, fireplaces on the outdoor areas including where the outdoor hot-tubs are located. The majority of the staff were very friendly, and we found the valet guys to be even more welcoming and willing to share their knowledge of the area and things to do! If we ever get back to that area of Utah, I would love to make a return visit to the Waldorf.

Room Tip: Any room locations would be great!

I cannot express how fabulous our stay has been and continues to be (I obviously cannot wait to write a review)! We have stayed in some very nice hotels and condos but nothing compares to the Waldorf! First of all it's off season in Park City right now so the deal we got on our room was unbelievable. We booked the one bedroom loft, two bath, full Viking kitchen, livingroom with a very comfy sofa bed, dining table and balcony. I am in awe at the quality of the room and furnishings...the kitchen is breath taking! We also have a spectacular view of the Canyons ski area.

When we booked we mentioned we were coming to town for our daughters surgery and we wanted a room in a quiet location. She is 8 and was so excited when we came in the room and they had homemade cookies and a note waiting for her. It was so thoughtful it made me cry. There hasn't been one time we have left the hotel or returned that every staff member we encounter has said welcome back or have a nice day. The valet, bell desk, front desk, concierge and maids have all been very helpful and kind.

We left at 6 this morning for the hospital and when we returned they had the sofa bed all made up with extra pillows and blankets and a huge decorated cupcake with a get well balloon. Once again brought a tear to my eye! We still have another day here and I don't want to leave!

I have to mention the towels, toiletries and bed...SO nice I want to take all of them home, including the bed. We haven't used the pool at all but it looks very nice. We ordered takeout from the restaurant today and it was really good. The location is halfway between Kimball Jct and Park City so it's quick getting everywhere.

I would recommend the Waldorf Astoria to EVERYONE. My husband says I need one more shout out to the management and staff to tell you all how "phenomenal" our stay has been. We will be back and we will recommend the Waldorf over every other hotel in Utah.
