“Lives Up To Its Reputation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2014

For years whenever I flew commercial airlines and read the in-flight magazine, Ruth's Chris was always prominently featured in the "Best Steak Houses" listings. So I decided to check it out myself. The restaurant is in the hard-to-find (hardly any signage) Park City Hotel, which by itself is lovely. My husband and I were on a little anniversary getaway and the evening was pleasant so we asked to dine on the patio. The high-backed, semi-circular booths in the dining room, upholstered in a bright striped fabric, didn't appeal to us as much as the patio overlooking the pool and grounds. The service was impeccable, the food excellent, and the view of the ski slopes a treat. We ordered steaks and they were of course magnificent - served screaming hot with melted butter, and prepared exactly as ordered, and were of the most superior quality. Side dishes (sweet potato casserole, potatoes au gratin, fresh asparagus), were also well prepared, if somewhat predictable. In particular, I would have liked to have seen roasted asparagus or served with a Hollandaise sauce instead of plain, steamed spears untroubled by any seasonings. The sourdough bread was crusty outside and light and moist inside as it should be. As sunset gave way to evening, punctuated by twinkly lights and the glow of the pool, the patio quickly became quite chilly, a situation remedied by the lighting of the large propane patio heaters which, with their tall flames, cast a romantic glow over our table. We did not order dessert, as dinner was quite sufficient, but the dessert menu looked delectable. A nice bonus was the excellent live music provided by an unnamed artist who played both guitar and harmonica, and sang with an impressive and well-presented repertoire of pop and folk hits. Sitting outside, the music was neither too loud nor soft, and added a very pleasant ambience. The wait staff was pleasant and professional, unobtrusive but always there when something was wanted. If you are expecting exotic, be advised - the food is cooked very simply and presented without frills, but it stands on its own and at the price is a good value. All in all it was a very satisfying dining experience and we will return again.

“Wonderful meal & ambiance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2014

We had hoped to dine on the patio but the weather didn't cooperate. Nonetheless, the evening was fabulous. The atmosphere is pure "steak house" with muted tones and lighting and private high-backed booths. For our wedding anniversary they had sprinkled rose petals on the table, an appreciated lovely gesture. Our steaks (what else?) were perfectly prepared and served on a hot plate that kept them warm as we ate leisurely. Actually I got the Filet & Lobster Tail for the first time in years. Delicious. They offer both an ala carte menu and a prix-fixe 3 course meal, which was so much food that we took some home. Steak and eggs this AM! Adam, our waiter, was very professional and friendly; Scott, the manager, stopped by to greet us and wish us a happy anniversary. Personal attention from everyone on the staff. As for Cyndi M's comment about the short pour....not their fault...this is Utah!

Had a great evening celebrating a dear friends birthday. Our only negative comment was the very short pour for our cocktails.

“Best steak in town”

The patio dinner at sunset was amazing and reminded me of my honeymoon. I want to go back now. There was nothing negative about the dinner or service at the restaurant.

“Great Spot for Lunch in Park City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

I was recently here for lunch and had a fabulous meal. They have expanded the restaurant and now have a few different areas to choose for dining. The bar is on the smaller side, but very elegant and modern. There are a couple of dining rooms and an outdoor patio with tables for dining that overlooks a lovely pool and golf course with a view of the mountains. It is a very beautiful setting, and the patio is the perfect place to have lunch on a sunny summer day. Ruth's Chris has always been a popular dinner spot, but the word has not yet gotten out that they are open for lunch...and that the lunches are great!
I ordered the spicy lobster appetizer and the steak salad. The lobster was lightly battered and fried (tempura style) and was very tasty. The steak salad was delicious, as well.
This restaurant seems to be the best kept secret in Park City! Since it is located at Hotel Park City and is not one of the restaurants on Main Street, it may not be on everyone's radar. However, I did notice that the word is out with golfers, and appears to a popular place to stop and eat after playing a round at the PCMGC, since the golf course is right there.
I would highly suggest giving this restaurant a try for lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed!
