Owner description: Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main Street. Prospectors discovered silver in 1868 in the area that soon after became Park City. Mine owners made fortunes, while thousands of miners simply made a living. After silver prices declined, Park City reinvented itself as a ski resort town. Interactive displays tell the Park City story in an engaging manner. Fun for the whole family! Open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat 10-7, Sun 12-6).

Enjoyed learning about PC history. Great recently updated venue. Stumbled upon it as we were strolling Main Street.

“Small but wonderful museum”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

This visit takes about 45 minutes but can take up to 3 hours if
you soak it all in. Tickets cost $10 for adults with half price for visitors over 65. Children are $5 but that can include a surprise
at the end -so ask at the counter for how that works. A guide provides an overview but then you are on your own to move through the exhibits at your own pace. Lots of signage and well laid out exhibits including some that are interactive make the rich history of Park City come alive. Located in the heart of old town Park City, there are lots of other things to see and do but be sure to leave some time for this museum.

“Great place to start your visit.”

Love the displays of history - easy and quick to read snippets of history along with fun ways for kids to experience it. You can really picture what life must have been like for the miners. A must see.

“Well Done!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

This is a great little museum. It can easily be toured in an hour or if you are like me and enjoy reading all the signs can take upwards of 21/2 to 3. There are some very well done interactive exhibits, that kids (and adults) can enjoy. Don't miss the jail with the talking wanted posters! It does a great job of recapping the history of Park City in a fun and informative way. It also didn't sugar over some of the town's less than flattering. We had nine in our party, with 4 kids ages 8-15; all of the kids loved it. It does cost money but I didn't think it was unreasonable; kids under 6 are free, kids 7-17 are $5, adults are $10 and seniors over 65, students and miliary personel are $8. It's right on Main street in downtown Park City.

A small museum with a big story to tell. Easy to navigate and full of the rich history and people who developed Park City.
