Owner description: Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main Street. Prospectors discovered silver in 1868 in the area that soon after became Park City. Mine owners made fortunes, while thousands of miners simply made a living. After silver prices declined, Park City reinvented itself as a ski resort town. Interactive displays tell the Park City story in an engaging manner. Fun for the whole family! Open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat 10-7, Sun 12-6).

“Wonderful Museum on Main Street”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

When you need a break from shopping or just looking or want to give the group some idea as to what Park City silver mining was all about, stop into this newly remodeled and expanded museum on Main Street in old town. Superb displays and things for the "kids" to interact with. They even offer guided walking tours of this historic town.

“A sweet, chill activity for tired family”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

My family (mom, dad, 2 boys ages 9 and 11) really enjoyed this museum. It is small and relaxing, and very well done. The exhibits are fascinating and we had the chance to learn what it was like to be a miner in the early days of Park City.

The town has put a great deal of work here and it shows. This is the best place to learn about all the local history with interactive exhibits.

Wonderful staff of volunteers. New re-model with lots of interesting tidbits of Park City Mining History. Be sure to see the jails! Great for little boys!

“Enjoyed the history and exhibits”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

We enjoyed walking through the 3 story museum. The bottom floor was full of stories of the miners and the jail that once existed on that land. The middle floor had hands on exhibits to learn about the town, shopping and an old fire truck. Upstairs you learn more about the fire history and a catwalk overlooking the museum. Reasonably priced. Took about 40 minutes for adults to explore.
