Owner description: Discover Park City's history at the Park City Museum on Historic Main Street. Prospectors discovered silver in 1868 in the area that soon after became Park City. Mine owners made fortunes, while thousands of miners simply made a living. After silver prices declined, Park City reinvented itself as a ski resort town. Interactive displays tell the Park City story in an engaging manner. Fun for the whole family! Open 7 days a week (Mon-Sat 10-7, Sun 12-6).

Went here with my husband one afternoon after a "date lunch". What a lovely, informative, well thought out gem of a museum! So much interesting history, nicely displayed - audio and visual variation makes it great for everyone. Recommend it all the time!

A must do. A great visit for young and old. This is a great value and the staff was excellent.

For a small town museum, the presentation if exhibits was really good and modern. Kids will like the 'interactive' mine and the guide to take them round (this may have been an organised school trip but they were all happy and interested) I liked the re-created old shops and the (original) town jail in the basement. Much better than the usual glass cases of stuff, poorly explained that one often sees. When we visited, one area was closed for an update (June 12)

This one is older and smaller than what would be normally. But love to see the history. Not far from Salt Lake.

You really learn a lot when you get to touch things and really get a great visual of what you are trying to learn. Park City Museum does this with a lot of button pushing and various videos for you to watch. For the money, it is well worth the time spent here to learn about the history of Utah and Park City. The money they put in for interactive learning is well spent, and the staff were very friendly to answer additional questions that we had. Come here if you want to learn about the city!
