We choose this based on Trip Advisor reviews as we wanted to be near Bryce Natl park. Stayed May 27-28.Cost $88.50/night for 2 queen beds. It Is not a 4 star property by any stretch . It is very dated , with old carpeting and comforters, window coverings, the bathrooms have been somewhat updated, rooms are very small. Everything worked OK.Not much else in this town. I would stay elsewhere Kanab, which is very nice, or Springdale just outside Zion or Cedar City UTAH.

Panguitch is a one-blinking-red-light town. There are a couple of older motels, a grocery store, a gas station, and one or two restaurants. We're not campers and didn't want to pay the premium to stay closer to Bryce, so this was our choice. We stayed in room #1 which is clearly bigger than the other rooms based on reviews and had a table and chairs. There was no fridge but there was ice, so we just iced up the coolers. Despite being on the main road (hahaha) the rooms seemed to be well insulated as we didn't hear anything once we were in for the night. The linens weren't the most luxurious, but the facilities were clean and well-lit, which I appreciated. Bathroom was larger than expected. Motel staff were pleasant and courteous and the office is full of brochures and restaurant menus. Based on the time of year and proximity to Bryce, definitely feel like we got our money's worth. Keep in mind that given the time of year, you may want to book in advance; the hotel's VACANCY sign was lit when we arrived, but the NO appeared not long after that.

My husband and I stayed at the Purple Sage for two nights while visiting Bryce National
Park (BNP). The motel's staff was very friendly. Our room was a great value for the $59/night we paid. The room was extremely clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was flooded with natural light. It was a bonus to have a flat screen TV and a strong wireless connection. Despite the fact that the parking lot was full, it was quiet and we were able to get a good night's sleep. We spent so much time at the park that we did not tour Panguitch. It took us about 25 minutes to drive from BNP to Purple Sage.

We had a very restful night at the Purple Sage. The room was very clean and even being right next to a main thoroughfare it was a quiet night. Had a great dinner and then sat out on the porch and watched the sunset.

I read here that Panguich was old and run down, so we were pleasantly surprised. Downtown is almost all original buildings, so they are old, but a lot of effort has gone into restoring them and giving the entire town an Old West theme. Don't miss the little park between two buildings with a covered wagon and wanted posters of Butch Cassidy, their claim to fame. Also, there's a little jail right across the street that is great for taking a picture. One more note: Everything closes on Sunday, but one restaurant was open.

The Purple Sage is an older, standard motel. The rooms are not large, but they have been completely renovated and everything looks fresh and new. It was a good value for the area.
