Panguich (pronounced Pan-gwitch) is a pretty average sort of place, but it is fairly convenient for Bryce Canyon which was our objective. We selected the Purple Sage on the basis of Tripadvisor reviews, and the motel was clean, comfortable, modernised, and reasonably priced, but it is a typical small-town motel with rooms opening directly on to the car park. Also, the nightlife in Panguitch won't detain you for long.
We visited Bryce Canyon late in the afternoon, a 25 minute drive from Panguitch, and got back to the motel around 8:30 just as the light was fading. After eating in Panguitch (not much choice), we went to bed.
We passed a number of other hotels/motels between Panguitch and Bryce Canyon, and these would merit a little research before choosing a place to stay.
