Stayed overnight on a road trip with two young kids. The staff members were courteous and friendly and we were pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of the rooms. The sheets were a little stiff (though clean) but everything else was nice.

We stayed here 1 night making our way through Nat'l parks in Utah. Friendly staff and house keeping brought us extra towels right away. Beds were OK, a bit to firm for me, linens for bed and bath were clean and decent quality. Bathroom was super small, but for one night, was OK. The hot water ran out during my shower. Hotel has 2 buildings, one across the street from the check in lobby. TV, wifi and refrigerator. I probably wouldn't stay here again, not because of anything specific, but the hotels 2 buildings are old and outdated, and prefer to stay in a more modern hotel. They served a small breakfast off the lobby in the morning, but I didn't eat there. My husband had toast and juice and said it was OK.

Room Tip: Some rooms are very close to the street.

Reasonably clean and comfortable. The room was a place to shower and sleep after hiking the national parks all day, and it served that purpose adequately. The walls were thin, but the air conditioner unit provided sufficient white noise to mask the sounds. Breakfast was better than expected, with the ability to make your own waffles (although the addition of some fresh fruit would be very welcome.) The people running it were very friendly. Basic maintenance is missing, though. We pointed out a running toilet after the first night, but it was never fixed, although we were there 3 nights. The towel rack in the vanity area was missing, and the hair dryer did not match the wall hook for it, making it difficult to use. The power went out when using the coffee maker and hair dryer both. Two easily fixed annoyances: Provide a channel guide for the TV tThere were 48 channels, but no way to find what we wanted to watch without flipping through each one) and provide brighter lighting for reading or doing crossword puzzles.

Overall, the room worked just fine for us, but we are not overly picky. If you are particular, this might not be the place for you.

As an additional note, we enjoyed dining at Cowboy Smokehouse. They were very friendly. The BBQ ribs were outstanding, and they accommodated a vegetarian with no issue.

Only 25 minutes to Bryce Canyon National Park, the New Western motel is a nice place to stay with friendly hosts. It's a small town, and the few motel employees cover all the main services (reception, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.), so don't expect "big-city" specialized treatment. The rooms are clean but you may notice that minor repairs are needed (e.g., light fixtures not firmly attached to the wall). The beds are comfortable but on the firm side. The continental breakfast is, well, continental... Not a lot of choice but, then, there are so many hotel/motel chains that provide nothing, so the juice, cereal, waffles, bagels are appreciated.

Room Tip: Second-floor rooms are quieter and are not bothered by late-night arrivers whose car lights shine in...

This is an interesting(?) motel, a two property place which has a 4 lane highway to cross from (or to) some of the rooms, where we happened to have a room assigned to us. My husband was not feeling well when we checked in, so we did not have the energy to argue. The door had very large sheets of paint peeling on the exterior. The front "porch" badly needed to be swept, and the patio chairs in front of the room were so filthy that no one wanted to use them, some people were bringing chairs out from inside the room to sit outdoors. The carpet and floors in the room were so dirty, that simply walking around made pet hair from former customers fly about and settle anywhere and everywhere. The shower had caulk coming out of the bottom and cracked tiles; not to mention the unpredictable changes in temperature (cold and then nearly hot, then cold again without touching the shower valve) while trying to take a quick shower. The bed was not on a pedestal, so as I was clearing the room, I looked under to make sure nothing was overlooked. The dirt and pet hair was so thick and deep that my husband joked that a person could grow potatoes under there. When I asked the manager who was tending the front desk for a card for the motel, he handed me a business card size coupon from a local restaurant, with a stamp of his motel on the reverse. Mr. Lincoln on the penny says "ouch" when this motel manager handles money. I wanted to do laundry and asked the manager where to find a coin operated laundry. He directed me to his own laundry where one of his machines was out of order and the working one was in use. The manager offered me a tiny box of laundry soap for $3.00. I choose to go elsewhere. Breakfast was traumatic; all of the tables were left messy by other people; I asked the same manager for a towel to wipe one down, and he directed me to use a paper napkin, and did not offer any cleaning solution to use. There was waffle batter spattered all over; he said that a client broke the dispenser. The batter was very thin; he said that a customer poured water in it! Oh noooo. As we were loading our car, we noticed a man housekeeper who was rapidly throwing linens out of rooms onto those filthy chairs, and when he was done in the rooms, he went down the row of rooms with a vacuum, spending less than one minute vacuuming each room. Our neighbors on each side had quiet dogs with them. We were checking out just before check out time, so we saw things that perhaps not many people saw. Surprisingly, the bed was very comfortable, and it was quiet. The door was so needful of weather stripping that we joked that the pets who stay there have their own way in and out. I am very glad that the weather was very mild, so we remained reasonably comfortable.

Room Tip: Room tip: If you like a clean room, choose a different motel.

The standard of house keeping is very good and the bathrooms are very clean, The beds wouldn't look out of place in a hotel costing twice as much as this one charges. But this isn't the reason I would recommend The New Western to other travellers, the reason is the people who work there. These guys go that extra yard, and then some to make sure their guests are looked after. If you are looking for a motel that regards you as a valued customer and not just a number on a check in list, these guys won't let you down.

Our most disappointing stay in this area, but close to national parks and Red Canyon in Dixie National Forest adjacent to Bryce Canyon NP. Room was in need of repair with paint having peeled off. Pillows and beds were uncomfortable. Front office staff was not in evidence while another check-in and I waited having called out to announce our arrival. Staff was a functionary. He had a list of rooms not to let for the night because of issues one of which was non-functioning A-C. The entire second floor was not available to let either for a reason I do not know. Breakfast was a adequate and being set up by someone in pajamas when we arrived during serving hours. I would not stay here again.
