“Most awful Inn in the USA”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2011

The linnen we have got full human hair. Black, blond, red, whatever you would prefer.
The reception was deserted most of the time no one to speak to, or complain. Take it or leave it. Sleepless nights due to narrow uncomfortable beds. When the toilet stopped flushing, we had to use our plumbering skills to fix it (as we said no one to complain to). For the morning coffee they dare charge $2... no. $ 1,95...Oh and each time you arrive in the room the welcome message is some kind of moisture stench. If you respect yourself stay away off this disgraceful place.

We stayed in a cabin for 1 night because it was pouring and we couldn't deal with camping. Nice size room, clean enough. My husband ate dinner at the restuarant and the portion was large and he enjoyed his meal

Clean, comfortable, staff is friendly, you get what you pay for. And it is relative inexpensive, good location. We rented a cabin.

Ok, it's certainly not the Ritz, but the cabins are cute, super clean, and the service was great. You are right down the street from Bryce, but pay a fraction of what Ruby's goes for. We will be back for sure.

I read older reviews which complained about the staff. I have to say, there was clearly a huge turnaround in attitudes. Kristy was super sweet, abundantly helpful, and works her tail off running the front desk and taking orders at the cafe. Breakfast was fine. Nothing fancy, but your typical wholesome fare.

Unless you're really a stickler about staying somewhere fancy, I'd recommend giving Harold's a shot.

Harold's Place is probably my hardest to rate and review as it was simply OK, not bad, not good, just OK.

Good:
The rooms fairly clean
No breakfast included, you have to purchase it at the restaurant (10% off)
The staff was OK. They moved our room to be closer to the door when we called a few hours before we arrived as my husband had sprained his ankle.

Bad:
No additional amenities for the price
The rooms were small
The beds weren't very comfortable

Suggestions for Improvement:
The price is too high for what it was. Maybe include breakfast in the price or a bigger discount on breakfast (50% off vs. 10%).

We stayed for two nights and found this inn very convenient to all the sights of Bryce Canyon and the scenic by-way of Hwy 12. The rooms were spacious and clean and the beds comfortable. The on site restaurant offers a limited but adequate menu selection for breakfast and dinner at a reasonable price. Compared to the crowds and the prices that are common at the inns close to the canyon, this place compares very favorably, and it is well worth to stay here and drive the few miles down Hwy 12.

It starts with a locked office with a sigh to go to restaurant to pick up your key.
The restaurant had no customer, but she was not in the office. WTF!!
The distance between office and restaurant was not close, and it was really annoying to walk all the way to check in.
The same thing happened when I check out.
I had to walk all the way to the restaurant under the sun to just give the key.
Stupid. I kindly suggested them to stay in the office while people are checking out, and she was like "there is a key drop box" which I never heard when I checked in.
Wow, very nice, I really need to thank her to telling me after I walked all the way under the hot sun.
The room got this unpleasant smell, and it would not go away even if you open the room and change the air.
The bed seemed like it got people's sweat... it was humid and almost wet... it felt gross. they need to do something about it.
The internet was SUPER SLOW.. I had to wait almost 1 min-5 min to load every single page. or sometime it got no connection.
And it was really noisy, whenever someone closed their door, it was really really loud.
I woke up at the middle of the night and early in the morning because of that.

There is no reason to go back there ever again.
AVOID if you are thinking of staying there.
I cannot believe this place got such a high rating...
