“Close to Bryce Canyon with a reasonable price tag”
Reviewed June 19, 2011

We stayed for two nights and found this inn very convenient to all the sights of Bryce Canyon and the scenic by-way of Hwy 12. The rooms were spacious and clean and the beds comfortable. The on site restaurant offers a limited but adequate menu selection for breakfast and dinner at a reasonable price. Compared to the crowds and the prices that are common at the inns close to the canyon, this place compares very favorably, and it is well worth to stay here and drive the few miles down Hwy 12.

It starts with a locked office with a sigh to go to restaurant to pick up your key.
The restaurant had no customer, but she was not in the office. WTF!!
The distance between office and restaurant was not close, and it was really annoying to walk all the way to check in.
The same thing happened when I check out.
I had to walk all the way to the restaurant under the sun to just give the key.
Stupid. I kindly suggested them to stay in the office while people are checking out, and she was like "there is a key drop box" which I never heard when I checked in.
Wow, very nice, I really need to thank her to telling me after I walked all the way under the hot sun.
The room got this unpleasant smell, and it would not go away even if you open the room and change the air.
The bed seemed like it got people's sweat... it was humid and almost wet... it felt gross. they need to do something about it.
The internet was SUPER SLOW.. I had to wait almost 1 min-5 min to load every single page. or sometime it got no connection.
And it was really noisy, whenever someone closed their door, it was really really loud.
I woke up at the middle of the night and early in the morning because of that.

There is no reason to go back there ever again.
AVOID if you are thinking of staying there.
I cannot believe this place got such a high rating...

We stayed at Harold's in one of the cabins while visiting Bryce Canyon--it turned out to be a wise decision. The cabins were immaculately clean, and set back far enough from the road so that they were very quiet. Instant hot water in the shower, and it had one of the non-politically correct shower heads with lots of water pressure (good for me as I have very thick hair and normally can't get a good rinse when I shampoo in a motel).

The food in the restaurant was excellent! My husband is one of the pickiest eaters on the planet, so it was a nice surprise that the food was so good. The dinner menu is limited (no hamburgers or chicken strips for the kiddies) but fancier than what you'd expect. At breakfast I had light, fluffy pancakes that that were the size of the plate! We would definitely stay here again.

1. Stay in cabin rather than inn room if available; more privacy and more spacious; both cost the same at $75 plus tax
2. Old TV and expanded basic cable channels but no premium channels like HBO or Showtime. TV is mounted on wall and remote is secured to night stand
3. 17 miles from Bryce entrance
4. Attached restaurant gives ten percent discount to overnight guests but I did not try restaurant
5. Bed too soft for my liking
6. Small, covered patio outside each room to sit outside and smoke
7. Only shower but no tub
8. Parking lot is gravel and not paved
9. Kristie is daughter of owner and manages small restaurant; she can be ill tempered and ill mannered
10. Plenty of drawer space
11. Reservations must be made by phone or fax; you cannot book from website

Stayed at Harold's Place for one night in August 2010. Firstly it's 7 miles from Panguitch at the intersection of the 12 and the 89. So it's a misnomer to say it's located in Panguitch. But besides that, we were placed in one of their self contained cabins (when we asked for a motel room) which was perfectly adequate and comfortable. They don't serve dinner past 830 at their on site restaurant which greatly limits your food options if you arrive late (as we did). Be prepared for the 7 mile drive into Panguitch in that case.
Reception service was mediocre, but when hotels closer to Bryce Canyon were quoting over $200 a room for the night, then a disinterested female behind the front desk can be ignored for $84 inc tax.
Would stay here again if I found myself in this neck of the woods at 8pm at night without a booking elsewhere.

We took the log cabin, it was cute, clean, functional and a touch of rustic theme. Kristy was very welcoming, upfront about the room. I was of course worried about bed bugs, there were none whatsoever. Bathrooms were great, beds were clean, space wasn't too stuffy at all. Location is great, I'd definitely stay there next time I visit Bryce. Highly recommended.

the location of hotel is good and is just 17 miles from bryce national park. Rooms are big and clean but looks like its time to change the beds here as the room we stayed there were surely bed bugs all of us were bitten and got the irritaitions on the neck. Bathrooms gets clogged very fast, towels are not clean and hardly any soap for hand wash.i was expecting some more luxury for the amount I paid to stay. There a resturant next door and you can have the 10% discount on the BF. This place is good to stay but be sure that you dont get the room which has bed bugs. I think if we would have not got this room review would have been better, you can research a lot on hotels/motels there are many options.
