“Hoodoo what?”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

If you're in Utah and want to see Hoodoos but either find the Bryce Canyon is closed (like I did due to the government shut down) or the drive in is too long, I recommend stopping here. Great hikes abound throughout the state park and although the hoodoos aren't quite as stunning as the ones in Bryce, they're still great examples of the rock formations. I recommend Tunnel Trail a little down from the visitor's center. Excellent views from the top of the surrounding area.

“Stunning”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

We stopped at this park on our way to Bryce and we were glad that we did. There was nobody there!!!! It's amazing that everyone just zips right by this on the way to Bryce. I enjoyed this parks and the hikes a lot better since we had them all to ourselves and it's just as beautiful without the crowds!!!

“Amazing beauty abounds here...”
Reviewed October 31, 2013

We visited Red Canyon on our trip to Bryce National Park. This place is beautiful, you really get up close and personal with the formations. This park is one of many incredible sights to visit on the beautiful Hwy 12. We will visit again when we have more time to experience the hikes in this park.

“Amazing scenery!”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

We visited the area on the way to Bryce Canyon National Park. We had forgotten how beautiful it is in Red Canyon. On scenic Hwy 12, we camped in the middle of this gorgeous red rock mountains in a Dixie National Forest campground, just about half mile from the visitor's center. You can't get tired from looking at these formations!

Small State park with good walking trails offers a great landscape preview of what is to come at Bryce Canyon.
