Eliane's (not Elaine's) is the real thing, except that none of the pastries contain coffee or liqeuer. The owners are French (from Tahiti), and the only items that are not French are some of their breads, but they also have a variety of French breads, including pain au chocolat, and a nice assortment of French pastries and cakes. At Christmastime you can order a very good Buche de Noel. The prices are somewhat higher than other bakeries in the area, but the owners don't skimp on ingredients or preparation. The day-old breads are a bargain, and are often sold out by early afternoon. There is probably not a more authentic French bakery in Utah.
