“Nice Thanksgiving meal with family”
Reviewed January 8, 2011

Very good food in a nice atmosphere! The lodge itself is very charming and the staff is very friendly. The only con was that waiters and waitresses were slow and hardly came at all to our table. The food isn't the best but it's not bad either. A little pricey too but worth it.

“wonderful evening”
Reviewed December 7, 2010

This is in a building was originally a family home and maintains that feel. We arrived a little earliy for our reservation and were given a table. As we waited for our guests to arrive, we enjoyed hot drinks and conversation with Jody, the owner. We moved to sit close by the fire just before our guests arrived. The service was wonderful. Starter, soup, entree (for us trout -Utah fresh trout-and steak) and dessert. All is included in the price. It is like being at a family function. The waitress and owner came by each table and talked to the guests throughout the evening. We all decided on the tomato juice starter and the turkey tortilla soup. The soup was excellent! My husband mentioned to me that he would like to share our meals so we could enjoy both the trout and steak. It came out from the kitchen split for us and ready for us to enjoy both the trout and steak. Both were delicious! We all decided to enjoy the Oatmeal pie with ice cream (a specialty). Great choice!
We didn't feel rushed, even though we all sat and talked for quite a while.

“Blah!”
Reviewed May 11, 2010

Enjoy the scenic drive up and down the canyon, because that's all you'll enjoy about this place. I'm okay with paying $25 for an all inclusive meal, but only if it's better than Denny's. I guess their website says "reservations preferred" so that they know to have employees on hand. Empty restaurant at 6 pm should've been a warning sign.

Where should I start? Building smells like cat pee and is very run down. Half dead plants hanging from the wall amongst 30 or so Box Elder bugs should have been a clue to run away. Fruit cup? More like fruit shot glass. Salad? Expired and wilted bag lettuce. Halibut? Fishiest I've ever eaten. Rare prime rib? More like well done. Baked potato? Small and the skin hadn't been cleaned of dirt.

My child had a $10 kids meal that consisted of mushy "deep fried" shrimp and fries that had been made from the potatoes that were too yucky looking to use for the baked potatoes. Oh, and the $10 meal will get your child water to drink.

Dessert list was extensive, however ice cream was cheapo store brand and banana cream pie was disgusting with brown bananas and old whipped topping.

Save your money folks. This place is not romantic and the food is lousy. Would've gotten more romance eating at 7-eleven.

“Awful food”
Reviewed November 9, 2009

This food is just awful. I don't know why this restaurant is still around. I ate here as a kid and it was terrible, and we went there for a family function and it has not improved.

“Delightful, off the beaten track”
Reviewed August 29, 2009

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we were plesantly surprised. Yes, it was a bit pricey but we felt the service and atmosphere was well worth it. The food was fine, not outstanding but much better than a chain restaurant after several days on the road.
