Beautiful gardens but not worth making a special trip to see. One can see the gardens when walking on the Ogden Park trails.

This is a lovely sprawling garden full of places to walk or just sit and enjoy all the lovely flowers, flowering trees and other plants. They have a lovely rose garden, lilacs and so much more it is indescribable. No matter what month I go, there is always something beautiful and new to see. Because it is right along side the Ogden River trail, you can get the best of everything by walking the trail along the river as well as visiting the lovely gardens.

Although they began construction on a new area soon after we made our reservation the gardens was the perfect place for a wedding particularly for easy access and beautiful scenery and backdrops for pictures. Hey, its a garden you don't have to buy flowers other than the bouquet and corsages.

There was another wedding in the next pavilion which played country music all night but it was not too disturbing... although I must wish them luck because most of the songs were about divorce! I was worried the venue wouldn't be ready but they cleaned it up real well and sprayed it down the morning of so there was no dust or debris after the winds the night before. They do need to do a better job at replacing lightbulbs in the pavilions but this did not affect us as we had daylight and a great sunset

All in all a favorite spot for my wife and I the past couple of years and for us the perfect place for our wedding.

The Ogden Botanical Gardens sits along the Ogden River Parkway, near the mouth of Ogden Canyon. It is a beautiful Garden that is being improved all the time, it seems. Utah State University does a wonderful job maintaining it. There are bathroom facilities that are open during business hours. There are a wide variety of vegetation displayed with park benches and small trails though out. The canyon provides a breeze in the mornings and late evenings. My favorite time of day to visit is in the early morning. The sun rising over the mountains, give the roses such a soft and lovely glow. It is free to the public and enjoyable by any age/group or solo. There are also community classes held. More information can be found on their Website and Facebook page.
While your there you can also take a stroll on the Parkway trail which follows the Ogden river. You can head east, passing the Dinosaur Park and Rainbow Gardens where it then converges with the Bonneville shoreline trail. Or head west and it will take the Ogden Stadium/Lorrin Farr Park/Pool and into downtown Ogden. It is a Jewel
