I visited Fort Buenaventura with my adult son who lives in the area but had never been there. i am from upstate NY, visit Utah once a year and thought it would be an interesting place to visit. It was. Even though it was UT summer hot that day there are many shady places to walk within the Fort's grounds. Walking around and by the river was very enjoyable.

Hit the Weber River and try your fishing skills in the Weber. Off the main drag picnic, camp, fish..and maybe catch the Raptors practicing. I saw a Boston team tossing it around with the Raptors a few years ago. They have a pioneer reinactment every year.

This is a fun little place, but the thing that sets it apart is that you can feel like your miles away when really you are practically in downtown Ogden. We've had fun camping there.
