This out of the way place is just awesome. The food is very good. The menu is creative. Also the atmosphere is quite attractive. We/ve been back several time. It's become a family favorite.

Taggarts is a family favorite on Saturday afternoons. The homemade pita bread is great and is used for their sandwiches and "pitza". I like the smoked salmon salad with the feta vinagerette. Their homebaked cookies and desserts are very large and good for sharing.

The atmosphere and history are great for this little out of the way restaurant. If you like a heavy meal with very cheesy potatoes this may be the place for you. Stay clear of the fish unless it is fried; it is so dry it will stick in your throat. The only thing we liked on the children's menu was the fried halibut with fries. The Mac and cheese is a very poor imitation of kraft. The prime beef isn't prime and the service is just ok. The wait on Friday night is about a half hour. There are a lot of desserts to choose from. We had carrot cake which was very sweet and had more nuts than carrots. So if you don't have a high expectation and you get hungry on the way to Ogden, this is a cute place with average food.

This place has the feel of homemade cooking. It's location is out there off the interstate not really close to anywhere but it is worth stopping or maybe even a trip up from Ogden to eat here. I especially like the enchiladas here but it's all good from what I have seen. I will return.

Saturday night, there was a wait, but worth it. I ordered the prime rib, others ordered pot roast and chicken pasta dish. The food was very good. Good service, great view. If it's warm, ask for outdoor dining. The prime rib could have used au jus, but it was still very good, and the cheesy potatoes were wonderful. Old-fashioned chocolate cake and carrot cake were to die for. Try it. It's out of the way, but nice setting. Call ahead to put your name in.
