“One of my favorite places in the world”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

Over New Year's week, my husband and I took a road trip with the intention of going to the Grand Canyon Skywalk (which we did), but we also ended up with an extra night before we had to head home to Houston. We both love Monument Valley, so we decided to take a chance with the hope that we would find a room at the View (the lovely hotel there and I think it's relatively new about 3-4 years), after dark about 7:30 p.m. We did. We asked about early morning tours for the next morning. The staff said to check at the tour kiosk located on one side of the parking lot, in the morning. My husband did. John with Majestic Tours was available. I didn't expect anyone out that early in that cold. My husband came back with the good news. We went back to where John was waiting in a very nice jeep. He was so nice, and informative and patient, tolerating my request to take pictures of my husband and I, several times. And of course, it was beautiful. Monument Valley is always beautiful. I've been going there since by father took us on family vacations to the western United States in the 60s. In any event, worth the $75.00 per person (more).

“Back country tour”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

In early October 2013 we were privileged to go on a back country tour of Monument Valley. Nothing was too much trouble for our guide, John, who was extremely hospitable and made every effort to convey his knowledge and enthusiasm for his homeland. He also played tunes for us on his Navajo flute. In all an unforgettable experience, and we would recommend the Majestic Monument Valley Touring Co to anyone visiting there.

“Going the extra mile”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

John was our guide for our two tours spread over two days in Monument Valley. We took the private tours in a covered vehicle. John, a Navaho himself, was both very attentive and very informative, telling us about the Navajo culture and the local landmarks. He was an excellent guide and played some Navajo tunes for us in places where the music echoed off the rocks. He took photos of us in front of key landmarks and even gave us a sample of Navajo tea on top of the bottled water which was proved for our tours. Majestic Touring Co is not the biggest company but it is a relatively new company concerned to make its mark. They were superb on this trip and we highly recommend them to those who want to learn about Navajo culture and see Monument Valley at its best.

“An immersion into culture and incredible natural beauty”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

What an exceptional and memorable experience my wife and I had on October 17th with our outstanding guide, Jon Burns! He was pivotal in helping us appreciate the magnificence of the natural beauty with stories of the Navaho history in this land and how it ties in with contemporary Native American life in the valley as he and his family lives it. He shared the traditional view and interpretations of the massive natural mesas, buttes, and spires, but also how he and his little boy see other things in these wondrous works of nature. John was always thoughtful about what our needs were, whether it be an unplanned stop for photos or lingering awhile at some very special spot. A highlight was a flute serenade at the Sun's Eye as we lay on the rocks to absorb the beauty of the eye against a stunning blue sky. He also shared how their religious views tie into Nature and his family's life on the reservation. He expertly managed the drive on roads recently rutted by recent monsoon rains. John was thoughtful, articulate and kind. Our experienced enriched our lives and we will always view this valley in a new, very special way and will remember it fondly. Perhaps we found it so special because we were the only ones on this tour and we would highly recommend it as we were able to engage John in many conversations and thus didn't have to "share him". A side benefit is that I just completed The Owl in Monument Valley by Edward Jackson and the book has taken on a much deeper meaning with greater insights as a result of our time with John in this stunning valley.

“Above and beyond”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

Had a fabulous experience with Majestic Monument Valley Touring company from start to finish. Booking was quick and efficient. Scheduled to go on the Grand Canyon Raft trip out of Page and then the government shut down occured a few days prior to trip. Majestic office staff was extremely courteous and helpful about offering suggestions in an area they don't even work in.
I did the Mystery Valley tour with my two eleven year old grandsons. Our guide was John. It was one of the best tours I have ever experienced and we have traveled all over the world. John was extremely knowledgable and included the boys at every opportunity when discussing his culture and history. The boys were totally captivated (and no electronics involved) Highest recomendation for this company !!
