After looking on-line for a tour company, we rang Majestic Tours and spoke to Gabriel in January 2013. After an informative discussion we booked a private half day tour of Monument Valley and a half day Mystery Valley tour for the following day. A warning to fellow travellers - MV has a time difference and we were an hour late.(daylight saving). We were introduced to Quanah our guide, who understood our mistake. He was most helpful and knowledgeable when answering our many questions. We enjoyed his flute playing when we stopped and rested in the cool of the 'Big Hogan'. The next day we were met by his mum Lucille who took us through Mystery Valley. We were shown many ruins and artefacts. Lucille took us on a few climbs that were a bit scary but she ensured at all times that we were safe as she followed us up. She pointed out a number of native foods and we tried some berries. Lucille pointed out a flower which can be deadly if consumed, my husband touched the petals and Lucille made him wash his hands immediately. This family run business is highly recommended by us and if we ever get the chance to revisit MV we will book with them again.
