We had the best guide for our Monument Valley safari. Clint was so informative about the native customs of the Navajo people. He was pleasant and patient and answered all our questions in detail. We went back into the restricted area that can only be accessed with a Navaho guide. It was more than worth the price!! Clint did everything to make our experience one will never forget. He even played us a song on his flute as we sat in the "Hidden Arch". Beautiful! As he was giving us all the history of the land, he also explained the customs and traditions of his people. He not only took us to the most breath taking fabulous places to take pictures, but he also coached us on exactly HOW to shoot each picture...even to the point of leaning over our shoulder and adjusting the camera for us. Our pictures were as good as any professional. Once the sun started to set, Clint took off and we began LIGHT CHASING. It was amazing! He had the timing down exactly to get to each photo op and just in the perfect timing for the light to be hitting the valley. We will be back for sure...and will ask for Clint to be our personal light chaser again! I can't imagine anyone being any better than he was. Great job, Clint!!! Nate is lucky to have you!

This tour was a total unexpected joy and I highly recommend that you use a guide as they take you off the tourist tracks into some of the most beautiful places that Monument Valley has to offer. Our guide - Clint - was fantastic and Monument Valley Safari really knows how to make these tours a very personal experience for all involved. We did the Lower Monument Valley tour in mid February so it was a little cool [#thankful that we had the closed 4WD!] but it meant that there were far fewer tourists and we had many of the locations to ourselves which significantly enhanced this experience. This literally was the best part of our whole trip to the US. Highly recommended +++.

A very chilly early morning; such a hearty welcome and dedicated driving ! The 2 and a half hours seemed like 1 hour to me.

We visited on March 2, 2013. We were impressed with this company from making our reservation to the end of the tour. Within hours after posting our reservation request, Nate Holiday responded back with a personalized confirmation. An additional question we had was also answered as quickly. We took the combination Lower Monument Valley and Mystery Valley tour. Nate met us at the hotel before each segment and introduced us to our guide for that Tour. Both guides (Shane and Bobby) were friendly, outgoing and very able to share their understanding of Navajo life, history and beliefs. Lets face it...you are going very far out of your way to visit Monument Valley and owe it to yourself to get the most out of the experience. The guides we encountered through this company made the Navajo world come alive. A guide can take you places where you cannot go by yourself, and Monument Valley Safari did the job comfortably and professionally. Certainly made our day memorable.

We did the Lower Monument Valley tour and the Mystery Valley tour. They're very different, so it's really worth doing both. These tours really get you to places you just can't see otherwise. It was a cool day when we went, so our guide brought a closed Ford Expedition 4 wheel drive with a v-10 engine. For many of the places we went, you really needed all of that to get there,

Certainly, you can see many of the famous vistas from a paved road or even from a hotel room. This tour takes you to out-of-the-way petroglyphs and ruins of cave dwellings. Then of course, because the guide is a Navajo (or Dine, as they call themselves), you get rich insights into the Navajo culture and history.

The Navajo are the only native american tribe to recover almost all of their homeland. The Navajo nation encompasses 27,000 square miles, an area larger than many states. These tours are both expensive and a good value!
