Our small group booked our tour in advance through the internet working with Nate to ensure that what we were interested in would be addressed. Nate was very professional, thoughtful and helpful. Our guide Brian arrived on time and provided us with vehicle options. Thankfully he arrived in a large protected vehicle making it easy to enjoy the sights without having to contend with the wind and the blowing dust during the ride - although he would have gladly changed vehicles had we insisted on an open air ride. I was impressed with Brian's natural ease with our group. He has a great sense of humor but is also very serious and thoughtful in his presentation of his culture and home land. His is well traveled and can easily relate to different backgrounds and has gone out of his way to try to learn many languages so that he can better communicate with non-English speaking peoples. I am guessing that this makes him unique. He was also very generous with his fellow guides, from other companies, conversing with them as well as their tours from which they greatly benefited, as did we. The ability to go into restricted areas and meet what should be national treasures, like Suzy Yatze, made the tour extra special. Additionally, Brian is genuinely talented in his singing and drumming which really enhanced our experience. Overall, it was a very small, but thorough glimpse into the lives of the Navajo which leaves you wanting to know more. I highly recommend Monument Valley Safari Tours and strongly discourage anyone from trying to make this drive themself. If you are thinking of forgoing this tour then see if Brian will give you driving lessons-you will need them.

We booked a private tour in a 4WD van to accommodate our 2 young children (ages 2 and 3) who couldn't travel safely in the open backed pick up trucks that other companies use. The ride was comfortable and we were able to access back areas of Monument Valley off limits to our rental car. We were very fortunate to have Brian as our guide. Brian is Navajo and during the tour helped us understand his culture and spirituality as well as how his people fit into modern society. The children loved the songs he taught them as well.

We had only a short time to spend in the Monument Valley area, so I did some research online before we left and discovered Monument Valley Safari. I was impressed that Nate responded quickly and thoroughly and delivered on our special requests.

We were fortunate to get Brian as our guide, and he exactly suited our needs and our style. He is fluent in both Navajo and English and shared Navajo customs, wisdom, and drumming with us. Also important to us was his knowledge of exactly when and where we would get the best photos during our 3.5 hour sunrise tour. Because of his guidance, we got exceptional photos.

We endorse Monument Valley Safari as a company (got to meet Nate, too), and suggest that you not only take one of their tours, but that you also ask for Brian!

This was an excellent tour, and our tour guide, Brian, was awesome! I definately recommend taking this tour and using Monument Valley Safari Tours. We learned so much from our guide. He also did a great job of making sure we had several family pictures at neat locations. We took the 2.5 hour tour of lower monument valley (although, our guide spent more than 2.5 hours with us).

Thanks to Brian for making our visit to Monument Valley more memorable!

We took the lower monument valley 3.5 hour safari tour at sunset and had the most incredible experience. Brian was an incredible, energetic, and knowledgable tour guide. He was interactive and even took multiple pictures for my partner and I. Amazing experience!
