This is the only hotel inside the Monument Valley and it is not a tourist trap. It is a very high quality property and well worth staying a night to see the sunset and sunrise on the valley from your room. The restaurant is also not bad. They have a very good breakfast which is discounted for hotel guests. They have many categories of rooms. I had a second floor room with "valley view" which gave a perfect view of the Monument as well as the starry clear sky. It was also on the same floor as the restaurant and the gift shoo which had some deeply discounted local crafts for sale.

Room Tip: Second floor valley view was excellent for me.

I am thankful the Navajo Nation has provided a place I could stay in Monument Valley. It's hard to find words to describe how beautiful this place is. Stargazing off balcony and seeing the sunrise was very special. This was a great escape from city life. I fell in love and moved to Southern Utah as a result of visiting this area.

We check in at 5 pm to allowing us to fully enjoy the view from our balcony as the light changed and the sun set over The Mittens. We were very impressed with the standard of our room, it was also very quiet and comfortable.

We had an evening meal in The View Restaurant, it was quite disorganised when we arrived due to the amount of people waiting. The food was ok and good value.

The next morning after watching the sunrise we checked out early to take a Monument Valley Tour. An advantage of staying at The View Hotel is that these tours conveniently run from the parking lot.

Room Tip: We stayed in a 2 Queen Bed 2nd Floor Premium Valley View room and found it to be an excellent choice.

Great facility. The rooms were very nice.
Despite a full hotel, I didn't hear my neighbors.
The star view room allowed me to see the stars without obstruction.
Beds were comfortable, bathroom roomy and well appointed.
Balcony is small, but comfortable for 2 people sitting
Coffee maker
Safe
Microwave

Restaurant food is average.
The mutton stew was awful.

Room Tip: The busy season is summer, but the late fall is great.

The View Hotel in Monument Valley was a real pleasure. The unobtrusive hotel blends into its beautiful surroundings. The staff is friendly and efficient. The hotel's corridors and rooms are lined with native art. The nicely appointed, very clean rooms have comfortable furnishings and absolutely spectacular views. It was wonderful waking up to the vista of earthy red pinnacles and mesas through the room's sliding glass door to its terrace. We had a simple and delicious ethnic dinner in the hotel's restaurant with its glass walls providing wall to wall views. All in all, just a wonderful experience.
