“Best of limited choices”

Rolling out of bed to watch the sunrise was cool. The restaurant was ok. But with both, the choices are very, very limited, so temper your expectations. The hotel room itself is very basic and doesn't seem outdated. Great view of Monument Valley. Friendly service.

We stayed on a 2nd floor room at the far end of the building from the lobby. The room was large, clean and functional, breakfast was adequate and the fitness centre was more of a small room than a centre. Restaurant was nothing special. However, you don't visit this hotel for the facilities... it's really all about the view... and a view you will definitely see!!

Room Tip: All rooms have a view... don't spend extra on the top floor!

I'd read about The View a few years ago and was intrigued. A hotel, on the Navajo homelands, perched on a rim of Monument Valley? Sounded incredible, reviews were good, so we hit the road - just a little over 2 hrs. from home here in the Four Corners. What an experience! The hotel was very nice, clean, attractive, QUIET, and dark at night. For the price, it was well worth the experience.

Room and beds were very comfy, frig and microwave, big clean bathroom. Beautiful native artwork everywhere, balcony. Food service is OK, cafeteria style, lack of fresh, healthy options, but remoteness and accessibility have their price. Servers and staff were welcoming and professional. The most spectacular part of our stay was taking the very rough-in-spots, 15 mile red dirt road that loops through the valley past unworldly formations and landscapes - these sights are not seen from the typical drive-though on the highway.

The only suggestion I'd offer is to do away with the styrofoam containers, plastic tableware & switch to compostable. Maybe even a greenhouse to grow fresh vegies/herbs? Take the commitment to self-sustainability one step further.

Room Tip: All rooms face The View - can't go wrong - upper floors will obviously be better.

We stayed in room 330 at the very opposite end from the restaurant and lobby. Nice room, good decor and the views, well, unbelievable. All the staff were pleasant although sometimes a little aloof but all in all, no complaints. Just be prepared to move your own luggage around (no biggie especially with the available trolleys). The breakfast is a simple fare but none-the-less ample to start you on your explorations. Dinner was very tasty and filling - no issues there at all. Everything worked and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Sunrise is what is it all about. Nothing fancy about motel. Wifi works in the lobby. But when you get up - capturing the sunrise was spectacular. It's a great place for an overnight. We stayed one night here, the other night 'in town'.

Firstly I must state the obvious. The scenery is absolutely incredible! Each room has a balcony overlooking a perfect view of the mittens. The hotel itself is sparkling clean & well maintained. It's beautifully decorated with Navajo artifacts and photos. The staff was very accommodating. The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 was because of the restaurant. They offer a limited menu which don't get me wrong was very very good (many authentic Navajo dishes) but during the dinner hours of 5-8 pm it fills up quickly leaving many waiting in line to be seated. Prepare to come early if you are hungry & plan accordingly. On the other hand people need to be mindful that this location is very remote, so to have a full service restaurant at all out here is a real luxury. Maybe pack some snacks for your stay just as a backup. Some notes: out of respect for the Navajo elders living nearby with little water, this hotel does not have a pool. Hopefully a pool isn't the reason you are coming here thought. It's all about the view. Also being that this hotel is actually in the Navajo tribal park it is a dry campus meaning they don't sell alchohol. Just a heads up.Overall a fabulous hotel a true gem!
