“Can't beat the location!”
Reviewed January 4, 2013 via mobile

You cannot beat this hotel's views of Monument Valley for sunrise and sunset. Seeing as they are really the only option IN the valley they could charge exorbitant prices and be a mediocre establishment but instead we found a pretty good value, very friendly and accommodating staff, good food, thorough amenities and an overall very good stay.

Booked a room over the phone for my girlfriend and I on a road trip. Place was easy to find but two things to know. It is on an Indian reservation so bring your own booze and there is a lovely booth at the parking lot entrance that charges I think 5 bucks a person or 5 bucks a car to 'enter' the park. Got to pay even if your booked in the hotel. The lady said if your staying several night the hotel will provide something for that. Dinner was spendy but very good, room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I ended up jumping over the balcony to get closer to the edge to take photos at night. Breathtaking view for sure, I could stay here for a month just in awe of the beautiful valley, very peaceful.

Room Tip: Get the south end of the building for the best views

Amazing view. Need I say more as I don't think there is much point going to monument valley and not staying here. However if you can't stand a night without booze with your dinner then maybe stay somewhere else. Top would be to go horse riding in the valley with a local guide - ended up being one of our holiday highlights. ( I'm not a huge fan of horses)

The USP of this hotel is its location. In the morning you can wake up to a beautiful sunrise over monument valley right outside your balcony. The rooms are very nice and the hotel interior has a rustic feel. The restaurant at the hotel is nice with extremely friendly staff. My favorite dish was their Navajo Taco and their fresh made salsa.

The food and accommodations at the View would be considered average, even a bit below average for the price were it not for one very significant factor: your room has a private balcony overlooking Monument Valley. If, like my wife and I when we visited this year, you have never been to the area before and are staying the night, why stay in a cheap motel/hotel in a two-bit town when you can spend a little extra to be in the park and see both sunset and sunrise over the buttes right from your balcony? I gave it four stars because the view does not disappoint.

Room Tip: For those debating whether to choose a third-floor room for star-gazing: the night sky is awesome, b...

The location at Monument Valley can't be beat for sightseeing at the monuments but the area is remote and food options are limited. Rooms are spacious and well furnished with an in-room fridge which offers the flexibility to bring your own snacks, breakfast items, etc.

Bottom line is, this is a great option for one or two nights. Spend a day or two seeing Monument Valley and then move on to your next spot.

We went here for our honeymoon and we loved the place. The staff was VERY friendly and attentive, the rooms were very clean and nice....not to mention the view from the room, breathtaking! We saw many reviews about the food not being so great, but I have to say they were wrong in my opinion. My husband had the steak which was a very good cut of meat and was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were fresh and delightful. I had the quesadilla and it was good as well. I would definitely suggest this place to any of my friends and I would definitely return!

Room Tip: We got a room on the ground floor and the view was excellent. I don't see any difference from...
