We stayed here after bad weather made camping at the Needles section of Canyonlands unappealing. Good price, friendly owner and clean rooms. The wi-fi was pretty fast and the hotel is located along the route from Canyonlands to Natural Bridges National Monument. The owner recommended a great restaurant (MD Ranch Cookhouse) in town for dinner (it was delicious). We ended up staying here another night after we returned from Capitol Reef on our way back to Colorado.

Staff was friendly and helpful, room had new carpet and bedspreads. It was very clean and very comfortable. The room had tv, fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. Price was very affordable. I will stay here again the next time I pass through.

While travelling on our motorcycle in southern Utah we experienced a tire failure and as a result had an unscheduled stay at the Monitcello Inn, which was recommended to us by the wrecking service that picked us and our bike up. The rooms at the hotel are dated - one might say retro - but they are clean and comfortable and very affordable. What made our stay so special was the owners (and especially Nancy), who went out of their way to help us. They found some dinner late on Saturday night that was delivered right to our room, they let us leave the bike at the motel while we traveled on to Moab, where we were scheduled to stay - and then tracked down the local Honda dealer on Monday (the dealership was closed that day), who then came picked up our bike from the motel and installed a new tire - all on their day off! Thanks Nancy and Rick - next time we come through we'll be staying with you again!!

This is an older (probably 1950's - 1960's) motel. It is family owned and has been well cared for. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and the bed was actually quite comfortable. You should know that this motel sits right along the highway and there isn't much soundproofing, so if traffic sounds bother you, this motel isn't for you. The other thing is that there are no blackout shades, just a couple of sheer curtains at the window, so it gets light in your room as soon as the sun comes out. The best part of the stay, I thought, was that there was a good old fashioned shower head with really nice water pressure (and plenty of hot water). No low-flow fixtures here!

I had read a review online where someone mentioned being charged an added fee at check-in because they had booked through one of the online booking services. To avoid this, I booked direct at http://www.themonticelloinn.com, Yes, it does state that there will be a $7.60 "reservation fee" added to each booking, but the total came up showing the room rate and tax. No additional fees, even though there was a separate line for this, so I figured the $7.50 was included in the room rate (which was PLENTY for this place). So I was pretty surprised when they actually added it on to the total once I got there. Go figure. I have never encountered anyone else charging a fee for me to make a reservation, and the manner in which this was done felt deceptive at best.

We didn't go eat at the family restaurant, which was highly recommended without asking at check-in, but instead got a pizza at Wagon Wheel Pizza. They were friendly, the pizza was tasty, and the price was a bargain!

Very clean and the hotel staff was courteous and prepared for us as we had made reservations. The continental breakfast was a bit less than what is standard nowadays but was adequate for us..

Can't believe the positive reviews of this place. If our room was supposed to have been recently renovated, I'd have hated to stayed there before. Very disappointing. The whole town of Monticello should be avoided at all costs if you can. And after reading that the owner's son owns the MD Cook House that they recommended, it explains some things. My husband's chicken fried steak was good, but how can you screw up a BLT. Service was terrible, not just for us, but for everyone in the restaurant. Table next to us was finally brought their dinner, but no silverware. Waitress didn't come back out of the kitchen for about 10 more minutes, by which time they were attempting to eat their salad with their fingers.
