“Unexpected quality and value”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

We experienced a real value for a high quality room. The owner operators were interesting and personable. We appreciated the modern clean furnishings. The close by Cook House restaurant was also a pleasant surprise.

I was naturally a bit worried about a 40 something dollar hotel room but I bit my tongue and reminded myself I just needed a bed and a shower overnight.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a courteous staff, a clean room with good TV and free Wifi, and a good continental breakfast. Wow!
Better than some chain hotels I've stayed in.
Downside: a rugged appearance, creaky floorboards, thin-ish walls, loud AC.
Also, be aware that this is located in a very small town. Not many restaurants or stores are open at night...especially on a Sunday. Found a nice "cookhouse" about 1/2 mile down the road which was also excellent.

Next time I make this drive, I know where I'm staying.

Room Tip: The "front" row of rooms are cheaper and there isn't much road noise...definitely wort...

We only had a few hours till home and we were tired, very tired. All hotels in Greenriver were overpriced, nothing left in Moab and this inn had a room left which we took. The price was right! The staff was welcoming and friendly. The room a pleasant surprise. My husband always prefers the chain hotels, I do not. This inn convinced him to give more a try. The room clean, quiet and well maintained. We would stay here again and YES watch for deer all over the area. We are use to looking out for them, if your not, slow down! Breakfast was good, for a small inn the variety was just perfect. Thank you to the owners, nice place.

Room Tip: Many people are looking for places to see, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Arches....this is a good centr...

First, the hotel is clean and owners friendly. The rates are reasonable, or will be, and the breakfast is very good. Wifi worked okay. However, your view of the hotel may depend on which rooms you book. There are three sections: front, side and back. The back section all looks new and is probably fairly nice, I don't know. The front is the oldest and likely not all that great in some rooms. Upgrading has been inconsistent so your results will probably vary. We stayed in the side rooms, which are a crapshoot. If you're near the road, say hello to passing trucks from time to time. If further in, probably not so much. So be careful about which room you get. In any event, you'll probably hear some actions from your neighbors no matter how quiet they try to be. Light switches, bathroom fan, whatever.

Our room was big enough to do the job, but clearly still not up to snuff. There was no main light fixture, just a bare bulb. Two chairs had virtually no padding and the third had a loose back that could just about give you whiplash when it snaps around. The bed was fine, but there was only one side table; with plenty of room, nothing on the other. Old glue fixes were visibe in the shower (no tub). These are small but cumulatively somewhat annoying details. I might have given the hotel an average rating nevertheless because it is a fairly nice place, but there have been so many whoops and raves that you might get the idea this is "all good." In back, probably. Otherwise, luck of the draw, and sometimes it's the short straw.

No restaurant or pool, nor do they pretend to have one, so that's no knock..

Room Tip: Away from road is better.

You first see the office and a row of rooms "right on" the highway. But there are more rooms to the side and back. Office staff friendly and efficient. My room was off to the side; clean, equipped, comfortable; good AC. Parked right in front. In the summer various construction crews will stay here for days or a week at a time. Had folks in room next door but never heard any noise. Had coffee and cereal the next morning - milk and juice in big containers in the refrigerator in the office. I"d stay here again.
NOTE - watch out for the deer on the highway between here and Blanding!

Stayed at this motel while hiding out from thunderstorms on the way to Canyonlands the next morning. We came across this rather non-descript looking motel. It was situated a short distance back from the main road. What a pleasant surprise. Everything was above our expectations and it was also pet friendly. The people were super helpful.
