Our family enjoyed a very relaxing stay...our kids thoroughly enjoyed the warm swimming pool and outdoor playgrounds. It has great food options and is very close to shopping, etc..We had breakfast at fannys grill by the golf course and our entire family loved it! The rooms were very comfortable and the resort setup was very family friendly. .We will definitely be back again.

We stayed at The Homestead for a quiet, relaxing anniversary getaway and had a wonderful time. The setting is so beautiful and felt intimate even on such a large property. The setting and views are incredible. Swimming in The Crater was both unique and relaxing - we'd highly recommend it. The staff was very helpful and friendly, providing us with all the info we needed about local restaurants and attractions. When we asked for information about a local hiking spot, they had a handy premade card at the ready with all the info and directions, which was very helpful. We stayed in an Executive Suite, which was very nicely appointed. We liked the little deck, but that was probably the one thing I'd improve -- it was not very well maintained. Overall, though, we would definitely return to The Homestead.

Room Tip: We loved the executive suite with its fireplace and jetted tub.

This resort is past its prime. I've visited/stayed here at least four times over the past 30 years. There have been few improvements and the place has some maintenance issues. I saw rust, dry rot, and pealing paint on many structures. I expected to see many people staying there. It was like a ghost town. We used the pool in the afternoon with no one else around. No one was eating in the restaurants.

The Crater Dive has a big build up but is disappointing. It's like a hot tub where you have to wear life jacket. After a few minutes it quickly becomes boring.

The king room we had was comfortable and clean. The gas fireplace put out zero heat. The internet was super slow. No HD TV. TV remote missing batteries. A number of annoyances that one shouldn't expect at a resort that once had a wonderful reputation.

The setting is beautiful and the landscaping is well-maintained.

We probably won't return again. There are better places.

Dear Sherman D,
Thank you for offering feedback about your recent stay. I was glad to hear that you found your room clean and comfortable, but of course disappointed to see that you also found some flaws during your wanderings.
As you can imagine, a historic property such as The Homestead can present its ongoing challenges. In the past two years we have completed several major upgrades, to include the rooms as well as the main building. I'm happy to say that both ownership and management are committed to continuing on with these efforts and we are eager to use valuable feedback, such as yours, in our decision process. The items that you've mentioned have been brought to the discussion table. In fact, our new signage has been completed and should be installed by the end of this month.
I certainly hope you will consider staying with us again. The Homestead Resort has been a staple of Utah resorts for over 100 years, and I can confidently say that we will do our part to provide 100 more.

Sincerely,
Eric Clark
General Manager

This was our second visit to the Homestead. The main attraction for our family is the Crater- we love it! Take advantage of the stay that includes the crater swim - otherwise you'll pay a good price for a family to swim for 40 minutes. And make your crater reservation well in advance, we almost didn't get to go in at all because they were booked up for the weekend. The resort takes dogs, which is a plus...but the dog friendly rooms are basic- would be nice to be able to upgrade. The pool area is great- there is a huge outdoor pool with two hot tubs (one natural/untreated), and lots of room to lounge in the sun. They also have an indoor pool and incredibly large hot tub inside along with a sauna. The grounds of the resort are beautiful, the restaurants are tasty, and there's plenty of activities available. Next time I'll check out their massages at the spa! A beautiful location and an easy drive into Park City. Watch your speed on the road coming in off the highway...it's 35 not 50. Nice Utah cop let me off with a warning!

This was our first stay at the Homestead and we will definitely be back. We got just what we wanted. A quiet 2 night getaway. We loved the quaint neighborhood like paths between cottages. We ate at both restaurants, they were both great! I would recommend the Chocolate Lava dessert. We enjoyed a couple massage and swimming in the Crater. Plenty to do if you want, or just sit and relax on your cottage porch.

Great place to take 5 and relax. There was a lot to do in the way of outdoor recreation and activities at the resort. We spent the day in Park City and sat on our porch in the evening. We can't wait to go back.

The Homestead Resort is wonderful! I have had friends tell me about this place, so I decided to surprise my wife with a getaway for our anniversary. You can not stay here without soaking in the crater, enjoying the 20'X20' indoor hot tub, and enjoying the beauty of the area. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a romantic getaway, any time of year. We left feeling more energized and relaxed than when we got there.
