Our family tradition: to be non-traditional. So, this Thanksgiving we booked a room so we could visit the Valley of the God's. We were willing to have a possibly funky hotel experience & skip a Thanksgiving meal in trade for a hike with family in beautiful Canyon Country. However, the room was very clean and the place was perfect for our girls. Miniature horses & burros & even a hotel cat! PLUS we were treated to a homemade Thanksgiving dinner- basically the owners let hotel guests crash their family meal!!! We all felt very grateful and lucky. P.S Great landscaping and patio scene right on/above the river.

After a long day on road and afternoon in Monument Valley, headed north looking for a place to stay before sundown. This place was perfect for the night. Room $70 for night, had heat and roadside restaurant. If you are looking for a luxury 5 star hotel, good luck finding it in this area.

We were only stopping to eat and sleep on our journey to see Utah's Top 5 and other sites in the 4 corner area, so we didn't get it fully enjoy the scenery here. The hotel is right on the river surrounded by red rock. The people were super nice, and the restaurant had really good Navajo tacos ( our first ones). Rooms had high ceilings and were very large! Would stay here again if I get to go back to this amazing part of the country!

We had not originally planned on staying here for two nights, but with the government shutdown not allowing us to visit Grand Canyon, we changed our plans which brought us here. The first night the only room available was a yurt..we had stayed in yurts before, but let me tell you, this was a luxury yurt! It had a queen bed, 2 futons in addition to a nice table for meals, a fridge, microwave and coffee maker, but the kicker was the bathroom. It was inside the yurt, where most are not so depending on how close you are with the people in your party this might be a bit awkward as the toilet and shower are only separated by a large screen. Being family this did not bother us. The yurt is up the road from the lodge so is relatively quiet even with the highway close by. And the topper is a view of the "Mexican Hat" from the front door! We asked to spend both nights here, but it was booked for our second night so we were moved to a hotel room at the inn, nothing stand out about the room except the rooms are set above the San Juan River so a pretty view.

Room Tip: Ask for a yurt!

We stayed here three nights, and ate our morning and evening meals here. We appreciated the motel very much. The tables and chairs outside overlooking the San Juan River are a great idea. We sat there in the afternoon after our sightseeing to relax and read. This is a good place to visit Monument Valley from. Also the Goosenecks National Park and the town of Bluff.

Our overnight stay was pleasant. The room was very basic, no frills, but I wasn't expecting anything frilly, either. PROs- Reasonable cost, clean room, large shower with glass doors, and the beds were VERY comfortable. CONs - Small TV on a low-sitting bookcase, which made it hard to see, but we were more interested in getting some much needed rest after a very long, tiring day. The view of the San Juan river and canyon below was beautiful. The restaurant was OK, nothing extraordinary but good food nonetheless, and staff were friendly. If you're expecting foo-foo, and room service, go somewhere else. If you want a clean, comfortable room, at a great price, this is your place. Would make a great home base if you're spending time in the Monument Valley area.

Room Tip: If climbing stairs is no problem for you, (no elevator) choose an upper level (2nd story) room to av...

I liked this inn. It is superbly located overlooking the San Juan River and is as close to Monument Valley( 22 miles distant) as likely to afford a stay. Even then the nightly rates were higher than I was used to paying and so only stayed the one night. However, in truth you will not get better for the price. No difficulty in finding it either, as must drive past the San Juan Inn if heading north, and just the other side of the river's bridge.
My room was large and comfortable, with everything clean and working, and I had no complaints with it. Bed mattress was firm and I enjoyed a good nights sleep .Place also oozed a degree of character, and there were resting areas to sit out in at end of balcony landing. You can also tell when a motel is efficiently run, by the quick responses you get without hesitation. Restaurant on site was good value with food served really tasty. Also service here deserved merit. Would have been easy to take advantage of guests through excessive meal costs, but not the case as all the menu was reasonably priced. I well recommend this inn therefore.
