Seasons at the Riter Mansion
Ranked #1 of 3 Logan B&B and Inns
Reviewed April 16, 2013

We chose the Riter Mansion for three reasons: Good reviews, located in Logan where my wife wanted to explore, and this stay was discounted for us due to a Groupon-like promotion which put the cost closer to what we are accustomed to paying for a night's stay. We are seasoned, budget minded travelers who have seen it all from the slums of New York City to the Canadian Rockies. This place was quiet, clean, quaint and well kept. I can't think of any place I've stayed with more character and charm, without sacrificing modern upgrades. The bed was comfortable. We stayed in the Library Suite on the second floor which has a gas fireplace which we didn't need so we turned it off to cool the sleeping area to our liking. The owner was very helpful with lots of suggestions on where to go and what to see. Breakfast was a bit early for me as I like to sleep in when vacationing but well done nonetheless and tasty. My wife is an eggs and hash browns fan and that wasn't a choice available but the apple pancakes were a nice departure from the typical motel/hotel fare. The LDS Logan temple close by adds to the unique setting which makes the location all that more appealing. Having a second chair in the room as well as a convenient place near the small bathroom sink to lay toiletries would have been helpful but isn't a show stopper. If I could I would have done 4 1/2 out of 5. Don't hesitate staying here.

Room Tip: Read carefully which rooms allow breakfast in the room and which don't.

As a surprise birthday gift, my wife took me to this nice escape for some much needed R&R. From the first drive up to the property, one felt like they were entering a magical place. From the sparkling lights on the columns of the home to the private drive up to the property.
As we got out of our car, we were greeting by the Innkeeper, and he saw that we had some leftovers from our dining out and offered to keep them in the fridge for us. After check in, we were given our key and shown to our room. Our stay was in the Parlor Room. The innkeeper showed us how to operate the radiators in the room, which was appreciated, and radiators are not something that most people encounter these days.
The bed was very comfortable, we appreciated the fact that the B&B offered Wi-Fi so that we did not completely lose touch with the world. There was a bounty of hot water, which we were grateful for as it was a cold, rainy, windy night.
Breakfast the next morning was very delicious and was filling without being overbearing. The Innkeeper was nice enough to bring our breakfast to our room. We were served Apple Pancakes with caramel syrup, with a side of bacon, fruit and Orange Juice to drink.
After check-out, there was a fresh blanket of snow on our car, and the innkeeper helped us to clean off our car, which was a very nice gesture. We really enjoyed our stay at Seasons at the Riter Mansion, and we would like to stay at this B&B in the future.

We had a really nice experience at the Riter Mansion. The staff was very friendly. They pretty much prepared our breakfasts to order. The room was very nicely decorated and it had a nice view to the Logan LDS Temple. We would highly recommend this location for a nice classy getaway.

We enjoyed our relaxing get-away evening at the Riter Mansion. The Inn-keepers are a cute couple that live with their family in the house next door. Their love for their Inn shows in the cleanliness and attention to detail. There is a peaceful, welcoming feeling. The colors and decor of the home are fresh, inviting and relaxing. We stayed in the Library Room located on the second floor at the back of the home. It was much larger than we expected, accentuated with high ceilings. The book shelves are filled with an interesting and eclectic assortment of titles that we enjoyed browsing through. Decorated in greens and cherry wood, this room is soothing and cosy. The spotless bathroom combines a feel of old-world charm with modern convenience. A shower big enough for two provides strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. The room includes a large Jacuzzi tub. The TV in this room includes a combo VHS/DVD player (the house has plenty of videos to choose from downstairs, or you might wish to bring one of your favorites from home). We found the bed to be very comfortable and slept well. We loved the gas fireplace which kept this room very warm on a chilly evening. It was also very quiet in the home and we never heard any of our neighbors. We did notice that the door to this bedroom does not completely align at the very top creating a slight gap, however we never heard any of our neighbors or foot traffic outside the door. Our breakfast was served in a charming nook downstairs with large picture windows letting the morning sunshine in. We were served juice, fresh fruit and an omlette cassarole - a bit minimalistic, but very tasty. This B&B has an excellent location within easy walking distance to the Logan LDS Temple, or to the main street shopping and Opera Theater. We had a lovely stay here and would highly receommend it to others.

Room Tip: The Library Room is a very warm and cosy choice for the winter or cooler months with its gas firepla...

The Riter Mansion is right off Main Street with a nice view of the Logan LDS Temple. It has a beautiful, well laid-out reception hall that they rent out for weddings that was added on in the last decade.

The mansion is nicely decorated and clean. The rooms are large with high ceilings but the carpets are getting a bit dingy and should be updated soon.
We stayed in the library that is literally filled with hundreds of books. We enjoyed a quick read of some of them. This room also has a working gas fireplace which was very romantic and effective at heating up the room. There is also a nice large jetted tub and seperate shower. There was plenty of hot water and pressure. The TV was on old box model and small (the Parlor room has a newer flat panel). They do have a large collection of DVD's that you can borrow. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were terrible IMO, too large and stiff.

Breakfast was very good and consisted of apple pancakes, bacon, and fruit but I wish we could've taken it in our room instead of having to dress and eat downstairs.

The owner is friendly but a little too laid back for my taste. I tried to call to confirm a reservation but was not able to get a hold of him so I left a message. He called me back later and said he was on the ski slopes and his phone didn't get reception. TMI, just tell me you were unavailable.

Room Tip: If you want a working fireplace pick the Library room. The Parlor room has a fireplace but it is no...

Very nice restored older mansion with a lot of character and charm. We stayed in the garden room. The place is very clean and updated. You can see the logan temple from the courtyard which is very beautifull at night. It was very quiet at night, although I would not want to stay there when a wedding is going on. We stayed there on a ksl deal for $75 which was an excellent value. At full price of $150 plus I feel the rooms may be a little overpriced. We only saw the ownes at check-in, and at breakfast which may or may not be a good thing depending on what your style is. Breakfast was excellent, and served promptly.

The Riter Mansion was the perfect place to stay in Logan for our weekend getaway. Its a small place, but truly charming. The rooms are clean, sound proof and well insulated. You can tell the owners take pride in keeping the place clean, well decorated and updated with quality construction. We stayed in the Garden Room, the bathroom was an add on to the house. I loved the jetted tub. There was plenty of hot water and the shower pressure was awesome. I told my husband it was like what showering in heaven must be like! Breakfast was brought to our room- apple pancakes with Carmel syrup, delish! Fun little secret- there is also a stunning view of the Logan LDS temple from the side yard. All around great place to stay!
