“Great Hibachi Meal & Presenation”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

We took the family to Tepanyaki for dinner. 4 kids ages 5, 7, 12, 14. Yes, it's a bit pricey for a whole family, but well worth the splurge. Our chef did an amazing job cooking the food and entertaining our table. He really fed off the energy of the kids. All 4 kids had a great time and were excited to see food be prepared right before their eyes.
The portions here are huge so meals can be split/shared. The restaurant charges around $8 to share a meal, but both people get soup, and salad and still plenty of rice, veggies and meat to split. It's a way to save a little and not overeat.
My wife and I had steak and shrimp combo. Perfectly cooked steak and tender shrimp. The 2 older kids got all shrimp. They love seafood and for a full shrimp plate $20 is not unreasonable. My 2 youngest kids were excited to eat after watching the food be prepared; always nice when kids want to eat and don't have to be forced to eat. Kids meals (under 11) are less expensive and still tons of food. We could have even split a kids meal between our 5 & our 7 year-old.
We did not try the sushi, just the hibachi style meals.
Worth the experience. We will go back for special occasions.

“Fun atmosphere- severly overpriced”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

The idea of a hibachi grill- where the food is prepared right in front of you- is a definite crowd pleaser. The chefs do tricks to entertain guests while preparing the food which makes for a fun dinner.

But it is completely overpriced for the type and taste of food that you receive. The entertainment isn't THAT good.

“Great entertainment but, terrible food.”
Reviewed January 7, 2012

This place is not cheep by any means, which makes you think that they might care how each person enjoys their meal. Well that was not the case last night.

Our Chef (Marc) was NOT a great cook. I must say that Marc was a great entertainer for the first part of the meal, but when he started to cook the food I wish he would have stopped cracking jokes and cook.

He only ask the first person on the table how he wanted his steak. Because the first person wanted their steak well done, everyone got their steak well done along with the shrimp, scallops, lobster and the vegetables which ended up blackened on the edges.

The vegetables were still edible but the steak, shrimp, scallops and lobster were extra well done. If you like your steak medium rare to rare it was more than disappointing. My husband usually orders the Filet Mignon and shrimp and I order the NY steak and scallops. We both like our steaks medium rare to rare. I have never had scallops over cooked and rubbery until last night.

When our checks arrived we were not ask how our meal was.

This experience will not stop us from eating at Teppanyaki but, I will make sure they know just how I like my food cooked.

Place seems dirty and worn down. Still decent food, but the place now has a funny smell to it, the carpet is dirty and it just feels much ceaper than it used to. Until you get the bill.
