We went to the preserve with our son, daughter in law and 4 year old granddaughter. It was a pleasant walk along the boardwalk, but you have to watch little ones carefully. It would be easy to have them fall into the wetlands. Not a lot to see unless your an adult. I admission cost.

This was a nice peaceful walk on the boardwalk. Only saw a couple of birds and a frog. I guess it just wasn't a busy afternoon for the birds to be out and about. I'm sure it's busier other times of year. The tower was neat to walk up and climb on.

We searched online to find a visitor center for the Great Salt Lake. It told us about this place. We drove all the way there. You couldn't see the lake at all from there. The hike was ok. But, not much to see! The bathrooms were not even open. It was a disappointment.

This is a great place for a short nature hike. It's family friendly, including for families with strollers or toddlers. This site is usually kind of busy, so it's hard to be truly alone out there, and people tend to bring their dogs even though the signs are very clear that dogs are not allowed. There are some great bird nesting sites you can see from the trail, but the crowds usually scare the birds away. This is a favorite spot for local tourists, but not so much for serious birders or more wildlife-conscious people. The lack of wildlife etiquette here can be pretty frustrating, but amazing wetland scenery draws all types.

This one-mile planked track winds through the reeds in the marshes on the edge of the Great Salt Lake It is a unique place for a brisk walk or a meditative stroll and anything in between. The Preserve provides a totally different perspective of the GSL shoreline.
