Jeff picked us up at our RV park, got us safely to and from White Pocket, and entertained us along the way. White Pocket is amazing, and Jeff knows all the good spots. It's a difficult road out with lots of deep sand and Jeff knew how to get us out and back safely and not bogged down in the sand. It was a wonderful trip and we'll do another one with Jeff when we're next in the area.

We were supposed to go to White Pocket today, but we had to turn back due to bad road conditions. :( It wasn't anyone's fault though and Jeff made a good call with that one because we wouldn't want to get stuck in the snow. It says a lot about a tour company when they prioritize safety over the prospect of earning money by pushing through with the tour no matter what. He didn't make us pay and even offered us a free tour next time, which is really above and beyond what is necessary. A++ for customer service!
In addition, Jeff was a great guide. He picked us up from our hotel on time. And even though the drive was quite long, it wasn't dull because he's really easy to talk to and he's very knowledgeable about the places that you pass through on the way. Because our tour was cancelled, we had to figure out what to do with the rest of our day. Jeff suggested alternative activities for us and even help us sign up for the tour at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

Wow ! Thank you for the great review, and understanding the fact we could not go any further due to weather conditions. The snow drifts were unexpected. I really hope you enjoyed the remainder of your vacation, and I look forward to taking you out when you make it back to the area, so we can show you the great area we missed that day ! Jeff came highly recommended by our hotel receptionist. He surprised us by coming down to our hotel personally to meet us, and he was really accommodating to our needs - our plans were still unconfirmed as we still had to get permits for South Coyote Buttes (SCB), but we knew we had to start bright and early at 7:30 am due to our schedule.
We did get the SCB permits, but thanks to the winter storm (Helena) the night before, Kanab was all covered in snow (on 6 Jan 2017). Jeff cautioned us about the conditions at SCB due to the snow / ice and recommended White Pockets instead. The recommendation was spot on.
We had a unique experience at White Pockets (Jeff told us there usually isn't that much snow) and a great time with Jeff (we loved hearing his stories, interesting facts about the area, and the photo ops he pointed out to us).
We'll definitely be back to Kanab. We know who we will look for to guide us around, of course.

A long time friend of mine has been wanting an trying to hike "The Wave" for several years but with no luck on line. So I agreed to go with him during the worst rain/snow storms to see if we could get in on the lottery. After losing on first day I called Jeff at American West Scenic Tours and he came to our hotel to discuss options. Any trip to a trail head in bad weather requires 4 wheel drive. He suggested White Pocket and it was great. His knowledge and fantastic 4 wheeling skills made the hike very enjoyable. We won "the Wave " lottery and his employee Sean took us there. The trail was a muddy mess but he got us there for an incredible hike. Wow great people, safety conscious and excellent service. Thanks!!

Jeff and I met in a coffee shop in Kanab Utah, I was going to pass right through the area blinded by tunnel vision for the Grand Canyon. Jeff and I struck up a conversation because we both shard an appreciation and awe for the area we were in and the magnificence it has to offer. I was full of curiosity and Jeff had a lot to share. He invited me on a tour that day, and out of a 2 month road trip it turned into one of my favorite adventures. Jeff took me and some other photographers to White Pockets for the day. He was prepared not just with water and snacks but loads of trivia, stories from his own experiences,and even better full of questions for me to ponder. Jeff was sure to stop at as many places of interest as he could to make sure we all got the most out of our tour. He was patient for the photographer and offered to take as many photos of us as we wanted. Once at white pockets Jeff was the perfect balance of letting each individual explore on their own while also giving us trivia and some history of where we were and keeping us on schedule. It's obvious that Jeff loves what he dose and is very passionate about the places he shares with people. If you want to learn and see some beautiful corners of Utah with some one who appreciates the beauty and wonder of the area but is also very well informed and helpful Jeff if your guy! You wont be disappointed, you'll be amazed!
