Review of Big Al’s Burgers

Big Al’s Burgers
Ranked #9 of 40 Restaurants in Kanab
Cuisines: Fast Food
Description: We learned about Big Al's when we asked two locals where they went to eat. They were kind of reluctant to tell us, kind of glanced at each other and then gave up the name. We went at 1:30 on a Friday, and there was always a line to order the entire 45 minutes we were there. The limited menu is cooked to order, so there is about a ten minute wait for your food. This place is a hidden gem and we seemed to be the only non locals there. My green chili burrito was delicious, the sweet potato fries flavorful and others in our party were equally happy with their selections. Big Al's is located right next to a MacDonalds, and sure was doing more business.I almost hate to add it to the listing because Kanab is a tourist town, and this seems to be the local go to place that does a good business without advertising in any of the tourist publications.

After spending 3-4 days at the Grand Canyon eating horrible food, this place was a breath of fresh air. Definitely go with the buffalo burger and a shake. People were friendly and it was a nice atmosphere. Also... good to know... there is a sign on the premises saying firearms are welcome the owner just asks that you use good judgment and aim when necessary. Haha.

After driving around Kanab and checking out a few places to eat....my son and I decided to try Big Al's Burger. The food was good and the staff was friendly. Received a refill on my drink for dine-in customers and the girl at the counter was delightful. We loved it!!!

Right next to McDonalds on the main drag through Kanab (it's amazing that anyone would choose Mickey D's over this place!!). This is a great burger joint. Service was punctual and efficient, tables clean and food exceptional (remember this is a greasy burger joint). Shakes were terrific and the tatter tots a treat!

Give this local eatery a try - I'm betting you'll have a good memory to take with you on your trip.

Rolled up here about 830pm and they didn’t turn us away even though they shut at 0900pm sharp. No kidding, as we exited the door after eating our delicious food, the car park lights and Neon sign went dark.

There’s a McDonalds right next door but we though a change is as good as a holiday. Looked straight up to the menu and there was a huge amount to choose from. Bearing in mind the time we opted for a classic burger – just great , fish and chips - even better and for dessert – two shakes.

Old time dining at it’s best with modern jukebox, formica tables, kitschy wall decorations and spotless throughout. Seating outside too, if the road noise appeals during the day. So glad we chose this over mainstream Maccas next door – better atmosphere, great food and friendly service.

Enjoy your meal!
