Crazy Horse RV Camp Park
Reviewed June 4, 2013

We stayed at this campground for 3 nights while visiting the area. I have to agree with many other reviewers, this campground is in need of some serious sprucing up. One night there was no toilet paper in the either of the ladies restroom areas. Take a towel or paper towels with you to dry your hands after washing as there is nothing in there. The managers may be doing the best they can with what they have to work with, but... Beautiful country, too bad the campground can't match the countryside.

This campground has the basics but in need of maintenance and upgrades. Further, when you make a reservation, you would be advised to get written confirmation of all the details. In particular, make sure that the actual daily rate is the same as posted on the web, get an understanding if the rate is per tent or per tent site if you are planning on multiple tents per site. If you plan to swim, inquire if there is water in the pool. The tent site was adequate, and a detailed confirmation note will prevent misunderstandings.

We stayed here 1 nights in may. Payed 28$/day full hookup for a camper and 2 adults.
Sloppy campground, dirty restrooms and showers, unusable swimming pool, dirty playground. Messy layout of campground. On the outskirts of Kanab. Free Wifi.
No more words to waste, but be warned : the other campgrounds in Kanab are not much better !

The staff is friendly and all sites have grill & picnic areas. The pool was out of order and seemed to be a long time unused. There is no shop at the campground or office, but 60m on the Street is a gasstation with shop included. I would camp again here, but 28,50$ is quite too expensive in my opinion.

As other reviewers have said this place is older. However, it is also run-down, unkempt, and noisy. The office is very old and disorganized and that should have given us a clue. The manager (owner) rides around in a gas-powered ATV (every other park we've been at they used electric carts.) So, every time he goes by you have that noise , and, he's not adverse to giving it some guess and spinning the wheels in the gravel. Did not find them friendly or happy to have our business. Swimming pool is full of green water - although it's not open yet, it should either be fully drained or full of clean water.

If KOA had a place in downtown Kanab, they would put at least 2 of the 3 RV park choices out of business in a week.

I would try something else.

We were not looking forward to staying in Kanab, but that's where our trip took us. Last time we were there we looked at the two downtown RV parking places and chose to stay in a motel. This time, a little searching on the Internet directed us to Crazy Horse. For some reason, although it gives both Good Sam and AAA discounts, it was not listed in the new AAA/Woodall's directory. Here's the scoop. It is an older park -- all the RV parks in Kanab are older. Given that, it sits underneath one of those beautiful red cliffs. It has trees and patches of lawn. Some of the sites are more level than others, but some are pretty level. There is room on the sites. The trees give shade but do not hinder maneuverability. The tent sites are enclosed with a rail and have level tent sites and lawn. Long term residents are housed in a separate section of the park. Showers and restrooms are cleaned daily...... they need updating, but they are clean. Some of the machines in the laundry were out of order, but the ones that worked took only a dollar!! We went intending to stay for one night and ended up being happy to stay for 4 days. There is a playground and a swimming pool. This is, in our opinion, the best place to stay in an RV in Kanab. And the managers/owners were very helpful and nice.

This RV/Camp does not currently offer cabins or rooms. They have full RV hook ups and some nice spots for tents under trees - with grills and fire pits. The restrooms were so so..ok for a camp I guess. In the women's restroom only one of the toilets was working and the rest didn't look updated and was pretty shabby but all over the restrooms were clean. The pool was no open, so I have no opinion on it except that we really wanted to cool off there during these hot days. The reception area is open all the time. If there is no one present, you have to ring a bell ONCE. Just once please, I rang i twice and got yelled at, but all in good. The location is great in relations to local attractions and natural wonders. If you sleep in a tent you will be woken up by traffic from the road though. This place also allows dogs ;) Woof! We've seen some in little fold up fence areas, some just on the leashes with their owners. Originally, we wanted to stay only one night and then check into a hotel, but we stayed the entire four nights! Not a bad place, but needs some TLC for sure.
