Little Hollywood Movie Museum
Ranked #10 of 44 things to do in Kanab

Attraction details
Owner description: The free Little Hollywood Movie Museum , a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt non profit, exhibits a collection of actual movie sets as the centerpiece of its exploration of how the sleepy little town of Kanab became the back lot for movies like The Outlaw Josey Wales, Planet Of The Apes & Stagecoach and a haunt for Hollywood stars like Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Charleton Heston, Clint Eastwood and more recently, Kiefer Sutherland and Willem Dafoe. Both on the big screen and on TV in such classics as The Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke and Lassie, Southern Utah defines the way we see the American West. The Museum is set behind Trading Post of the West, a gift shop focused on Made in the USA merchandise including fair trade Native American Arts and Jewelry, Stetson Hats and Abilene boots. From fine gifts to fun souvenirs Trading Post of the West offers a great selection at fair prices. There are big clean restrooms, snacks, drinks and a picnic area. Kid and pet friendly. Whether you have 15 minutes or over an hour, it's a fun place to stop.

You need to love movie sets, particularly Western Movie sets.
I'm pretty sure I was there about two hours including running through the Gift Shop attached!

“Western film sets were ok”
Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

It's free, so if you are in the area you should stop by. I wouldn't make a special trip. It was cool to see the sets but it is really run down and dangerous for kids. Saw nails sticking out. But if you are a western movie buff you will want to stop.

“Interesting, simple”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

If you like behind the scenes of movies, neat to see how some sets are constructed. A little run down, but no charge so really no complaints here.

“Are you a fan old old cowboy movies?”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

If so, then be sure to stop in and see some of the old movie sets. Bring your camera. Free to walk around. You can get a photo of you and yours in cowboy garb, which makes a nice keepsake (for a fee). There is a nice gift shop as well.

“Old west show”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Little Hollywood Movie Museum is a stop for the tour buses for a meal and for tourists to dress up in western garb to participate in a western show as gamblers, saloon girls, soldiers, and indian's. It was entertaining watching everyone enjoying themselves and having a group photo. We were told they have an average of 5 tour groups stopping per day.
