I didn't have an off-road vehicle, but the vistas were unexpected.
Being a different kind of park, more recreational, there is ALOT of litter strewn about.

Thank Jes P

Drove there after best friend's shift. Was neat to see, but was so cold out we didn't venture down to dunes

Beautiful...we found this park by accident after visiting Zion and Bryce. We were surprised to find a park with sand. The color is just beautiful..pictures don't do it justice. There were atv's all over and we saw people sitting on blankets having a picnic on the tops of some dunes. Looked like so much fun, and we even thought about renting atv's to try it out but didn't have enough time. It's not too far off the main road so it's worth a trip to see it, but be aware that you must pay to get in regardless of any type of national park pass you have. I believe it was $8 to get in.

Absolutely beautiful at sunset. It was one of our last stops of the day and totally worth the wait. Our photos turned out breathtaking. I can imagine it would be tough for some people to walk through the sand if you wanted to explore the actual dunes. Make sure to be prepared with plenty of water and a towel to clean off the excess sand before getting back into the car.
