As a Best Friends Animal Society member, follower and lover for many years, I had been looking forward to staying at the Roadhouse since I saw the announcement in their magazine. Building a pet-centric (not just a hotel that happens to allow pets as more of an afterthought) is so perfect! I've also been wanting to visit and volunteer at the Sanctuary for just as long — I finally had the opportunity to do it all! I can't express just how impressed I was by this hotel! It's beautifully designed, from the outside in. The entire hotel property is clean and aesthetically pleasing, even small details like pawprints in the cement and the front lobby and mercantile buildings. It's all beautiful. And the dog park on the property is also impressive! It's big and has a lovely design with little hills, grass, little bridges and great artwork of animals. Our dog loved it (and so did my husband and I). Our room was equally as lovely! So spacious with a sitting room, bed area and great bathroom layout. It's designed so nice inside with little animal touches (artwork and info about Best Friends), plus the pull-out pet bed within the human bed. Speaking of the bed, it was so comfy (our only qualm was that the pillows were a little too bulky). And the view from the sitting room is beautiful too, especially at sunset. The staff was incredibly kind at the front desk and at the mercantile where they would provide us with fresh coffee, pastries, fruit and nice conversations. And everyone followed COVID safety precautions so we felt comfortable the entire time. AND, the Sanctuary is just a short under 10 min drive away, And it's unbelievable there! Every animal lover must visit and/or volunteer! We don't know who had the better time, us humans or our pooch! I can't wait to come back!More
