If you are in Park City, you need to take the time to go to Mirror Lake. It is so beautiful it will touch your soul. We walked around the lake and had a small picnic with snacks. The scenery was so beautiful! Bring a jacket in case it is windy. Stop at the Notch Pub on your way back for a great lunch!

Its breath-taking view and walking path around the lake. Your can picnic and launch small boats from this site for a day of fishing and just relaxing. P.S. the reflections at the lake are beautiful.

Beautiful drive that only takes about half a day to get to and from if you are staying in Park City. Great places to stop and take pictures along the way and plenty of wildlife to see. The pass tops out at over 10,700 with an awesome view of Bald Mountain. Definitely worth seeing...

Our annual vacation took us to Park City, Utah this summer and the first place we went was Mirror Lake in the Uintah Mountains. This took us over the 10,700 foot elevation Bald Mountain Pass and past the Provo River Falls. Lots of good hiking and picture taking opportunities. Not too many services out there so fill your gas tank and bring a lunch to enjoy in peaceful and beautiful surroundings.

This is one of our favorite areas to look for moose. I think the amount of grazing cattle or sheep can affect how much wildlife you'll see, but it's a beautiful drive either way. My family has seen a bear in the area once, but it's not common. We also see Deer, Marmots, a variety of birds, and an occasional Beaver.
We like to start our trip from the Evanston side. From there, we work our way up to Mirror Lake (walk the Mirror Lake Shore Line Trail, if you have time,) past the Provo River Falls, and down the Kamas side. The scenery is beautiful and there's a lot of lakes, campgrounds, and picnic areas along the way. There's no fee to drive the byway, but some of the camp/day sites charge fees.
