Beautiful scenery. Breathtaking at times. Drive back into campgrounds. The meadows hidden between the mountains is beautiful. Gods Country. Fishing is good. We brought grasshoppers from Oklahoma and used them in Teapot lake. Caught three trout and had bites with every cast.

The drive to mirror lake (we went from park city) is just beautiful....full of little creeks, a little town and endless views. There are no services (gas, food, etc) so it is a good idea to make sure your tank is full and that you bring food into the area with you, as there are numerous picnic areas. There are several stopping points before the lake that are worth checking out, including a waterfall and several smaller lake and hiking points. Bring bug repellant if you go in the summer, as the flies are big and hungry!

The beginning of this scenic drive starts in the little town of Kamas, which has a nice 'little town' grocery store and some unique, original restaurants. Once you head up the road from Kamas you'll run into one more teeny backroad neighborhood and store. From that point on it's all untamed wilderness with open land all around. The higher you go, you'll start noticing all kinds of exits for natural lakes. Once you've made it to the top of the pass
you'll feel like your on top of the world. As you head back down the other side of the pass you'll reach Mirror Lake, which is a beautiful and popular camping spot in that area. Great fishing too.l

So living in Evanston has some perks, but it's a butt ugly place! Thankfully there's the Uintas within 30 minutes. The drive is beautiful, there are many lakes to fish, canoe, or just take pictures of. It's a good place to picnic or have some family pictures taken. The funniest part is the Nudist Colony at the end of the trip- or beginning, depending on which way you go. The road is closed in the winter. The highest point along the route is 10,000 feet. If you're in the area on beautiful day and need to get out and see God's beauty, this is well worth the drive! The road is free, but to camp, fish, hike, etc. you'll need a park pass, they're $3.00 I do believe.
