“Convenient location, close enough to Zion”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

We stayed here on our first night for a 3 day trip from southern California to Zion and Las Vegas and back.

I was originally looking for a place to stay in Springdale, which is a small town right by Zion's main entrance, but decided to stay in Hurricane instead.
After careful review, I quickly learned that everything in Springdale is much more expensive, not too many fast food joints for a quick inexpensive meal. On the other hand, in Hurricane, there are McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, Dairy Queen, too and fitted our budget.

Travelodge seemed to be the best deal in town. Others like Days/Comfort Inn were NOT located in town. Plus it is only 30 minutes away from the main gate, and we also wanted to go to the Kolob Canyon side of Zion as well the following morning, so the location worked perfectly for our needs.

The motel itself is fine. I mean, what else do you expect? It isn't a five-star hotel?!
They have free internet, free breakfast area with only about 6 tables (nothing fancy; no yoghurt, just 2%milk, juices, coffee& tea, whole apples, bread, cereal and the waffle machine) with not so bad rooms.
And the guy at the reception was very sincere and friendly.

However, if you have a choice, I would chose a room on the second floor if you don't mind dragging your luggage upstairs for a good night sleep!!

Like your apartments or condo, if you have noisy or rather heavy residents upstairs, you will end up listening to their every move all night!!

This is a very neat and clean hotel with the room being very spacious....The hotel is in hurricane which is 30 min away from Zion National park...They also have a breakfast in the morning which is ok. Good place for value.

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Zion National Park. I was put in an upstairs room in the second building in the back. The rooms were large; two queen beds with night-stand in-between, and a decent sized desk with two chairs as well as the standard dressers, etc. It was not cramped.

There was a TV but is was the old tube kind - no flat screen here. The remote for it worked poorly and the channels did not match what was on the guide-card in the room.

The beds were acceptable. The first night I was a little uncomfortable, but the second night after a day of strenuous hiking I slept solid until late morning.

When people walk by the room or talk on the landing outside I could hear them very clearly. Sound was not muted much even with the door and windows closed - but I find this to be common among most places like this. Makes it hard when you want to go to sleep early.

The continental breakfast was fantastic. They had a waffle iron for making your own waffles. The orange and apple juice were in dispensers and not open jugs like most places, and this kept them fresh. Only two selections for cereal but the milk was kept in a fridge so it too was fresh. I was really impressed with this place's continental breakfast.

Overall I found this Travelodge location to be a very good value considering the price I paid.
