We stayed in the villas President's Day weekend. We arrived mid week and enjoyed near solitude and quiet. By Friday the villas filled up and the noise level also increased. I was surprised at how thin the walls really are as other travelers have stated. We had an end unit making the noise level tolerable but even with my bad hearing, I could hear the people in the next unit. There were several families with children in the middle units and I suspect that made it difficult for the guests on either side. We stayed in a casita unit. It was very clean with a nice bathroom. It had a small hotel sized refrigerator and microwave. There were dishes and silverware but only two glasses to drink from. The dish liquid to wash the dishes was actually dishwasher liquid, not regular dish soap but there was no dishwasher-strange. There was a king sized bed and a full size bed in the room with one TV. It was not a suite with a separate bedroom, just one room with the beds and small kitchen area and a bathroom. The shower was nice. The beds were comfortable.
The pool was adequate but I was surprised that it needed a thorough cleaning, so much so that I did not want to get in it. The hot tub was nice. I was also surprised to see the curtains on the outdoor shower area where guests can rinse off before or after swimming so tattered looking. The golf course is obviously upscale and the clubhouse very nice but the pool area lacked attention and was not up to par with the rest of the resort.
I loved the location of these condos. They should not be confused with a hotel in any way, they are just condos. The view was nice. The area is very remote and there isn't anything around them but that added to the solitude. A Walmart is about 4-5 miles away in Hurricane so it's not completely remote.
Call the villas the day you arrive if you are doing a late check-in (anything after 6 p.m.) to get an after hours phone number. A night security person will meet you at the clubhouse to check you in. Our check in experience was very good.
I would go back to these condos again but only if I could get an end unit. I brought a camp chair which was good because my unit had no patio chairs.
Lastly, the condo we stayed in looked nothing like the picture advertized on the website. That picture must represent one of the larger units. Overall I was quite pleased with my stay at the villas at Sand Hollow.
