“Certainly Off the Beaten Path But Nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2014

We stayed in the villas President's Day weekend. We arrived mid week and enjoyed near solitude and quiet. By Friday the villas filled up and the noise level also increased. I was surprised at how thin the walls really are as other travelers have stated. We had an end unit making the noise level tolerable but even with my bad hearing, I could hear the people in the next unit. There were several families with children in the middle units and I suspect that made it difficult for the guests on either side. We stayed in a casita unit. It was very clean with a nice bathroom. It had a small hotel sized refrigerator and microwave. There were dishes and silverware but only two glasses to drink from. The dish liquid to wash the dishes was actually dishwasher liquid, not regular dish soap but there was no dishwasher-strange. There was a king sized bed and a full size bed in the room with one TV. It was not a suite with a separate bedroom, just one room with the beds and small kitchen area and a bathroom. The shower was nice. The beds were comfortable.

The pool was adequate but I was surprised that it needed a thorough cleaning, so much so that I did not want to get in it. The hot tub was nice. I was also surprised to see the curtains on the outdoor shower area where guests can rinse off before or after swimming so tattered looking. The golf course is obviously upscale and the clubhouse very nice but the pool area lacked attention and was not up to par with the rest of the resort.

I loved the location of these condos. They should not be confused with a hotel in any way, they are just condos. The view was nice. The area is very remote and there isn't anything around them but that added to the solitude. A Walmart is about 4-5 miles away in Hurricane so it's not completely remote.

Call the villas the day you arrive if you are doing a late check-in (anything after 6 p.m.) to get an after hours phone number. A night security person will meet you at the clubhouse to check you in. Our check in experience was very good.

I would go back to these condos again but only if I could get an end unit. I brought a camp chair which was good because my unit had no patio chairs.

Lastly, the condo we stayed in looked nothing like the picture advertized on the website. That picture must represent one of the larger units. Overall I was quite pleased with my stay at the villas at Sand Hollow.

Room Tip: It's best to ask for an end room to avoid the "neighbor noise."

This is a nice condo complex right on-site with the fabulous golf course at Sand Hollow. So convenient. We arrived at night and the Security personnel were there to great us and get us into our room. The golf was great, super personable and fantastic views. The grill is also very good. The villas are just a minute from the course.
Although we stayed in the casita, there are also larger units that would be great for family reunions or several couples. There is a hot tub and pool just a few steps away, outdoors. The rooms have a mini-frig and coffee maker and microwave but you might want bring your own coffee. That's the only reason I give this 4 out of 5...didn't know to bring our own coffee and there was only 1 bar of soap and 1 set of towels. The walls are a little thin, so bring sleep sounds.
The balconies offer terrific views of the surrounding red rocks.

Room Tip: The casita is perfect for couples and has a nice balcony.

We arrived late at night. We had been given the phone number of security and he met us at the golf club. It had snowed and the snow against the red rocks and on the trees was beautiful. Midweek we had the place to ourselves. Nice sheets bedspreads and towels. Small kitchenette with some dishes, coffee cups no mugs. Lots of windows with glass door to porch overlooking beautiful golf course covered with sparkling snow and Pine Mountain in the distance. Four miles to Hurricane I would guess 8 miles to the 15 Fwy. The clubhouse is very nice but was not open for us to eat there so you may need to drive to restaurants. Zion is an easy drive for a day trip. Nearby are two lakes and lots of open roads in spectacular scenery.

Very nice Villas! We did our research for lodging and golf. We knew exactly where the Villas at Sand Hollow were located. Nice lodging, pool/jacuzzi, golf. It is a great halfway point between the amenities of St. George and Zion National Park.

If you are looking for full equipped nice apartments/studios in a nice (golf) surrounding with red rocks and green, plus mountain view - you'll love it. This is not a hotel, but apartments, not daily serviced - so no hotel-infrastructure on-site, but friendly, helpfull staff at the nearby golf shop which functions as front desk. Away from village, very quiet. Not crowded during week. Good value for money. Buy your food & everything you need at Walmart - 4 miles away - or eat/drink at the Clubhouse. Apartments very nice, terrace/balcony with BBQ; clean, nice pool and nice fitnessroom both with great view, garage.
We enjoyed our stay: plenty of space, luxury apartment, nice views,...!

Room Tip: choose Dunes Suites or bigger to have a spacious apartment plus terrace/balcony with BBQ

VERY remote and isolated . Booked on line and was misled. I booked a room for one night for my 81 year old father and I. After checking in at the golf shop drove over to the room. No room amenities-no water, no coffee, nothing. And you're in the middle of nowhere. After the golf shop closed no one else on the property. Nearest store over 4 miles away. Drove back to golf shop as it was closing and told clerk we where uncomfortable staying there with my dad health needs (he's on oxygen). I asked him if we could get refund. I offered to pay a partial rate since we had only been in the room for 5 minutes. He said it would not be a problem that he would leave a note for the morning person and to call in the morning. He assured us no problem. Was charged full price by nasty manager who lied to credit card co claiming we stayed the night. Beware.
