Such a great place to ski. No lines and excellent ski school. I just wish you could get a massage on the mountain !

We take our ski/ snowboard trips to Utah each year. Usually stay at Powder Mountain where there are never crowds of people. Snowbasin is close by and everyone brags on their lodge so we gave it a try.
The lodge was built for the Olympics and the corporate money shows. It is beautiful!!!
The food is not too expensive and neither are the lift tickets. During the week it is not to crowded and did I mention IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!!
We loved the feel of the place and sitting on our breaks watching everyone come down the slopes with outdoor or indoor dining. Outdoor burn pits with sitting areas etc.
The only reason we do not spend a lot more days there is because they have very little beginner to easy blue runs. Some of their blues were steep to even the better skiers in our group.
The lifts are great and fast and with no crowds.....that equals a lot of runs. Too bad it was the same few over and over again. If you are comfortable with hard blue or black runs... You will love it.
The Olympic downhill was held here and the route is still in place. It was something to see and makes you know those people are nuts running that as a sheet of ice but it gives you a different look at the sport than what you see on TV.
We go to Snowbasin for a day each trip to enjoy the people, food, and atmosphere not to mention the views but wish they had more green and easier blue runs for us there.
If you are in the area.... I would go at least once to see this place and if you are very good on the slopes....well I would be there before a lot of other places.

I had such a great time at Snowbasin that I want to rate it as 1 Star. It's so great that I don't want to share, I want to everyone to stay away! Go to Colorado! Actually, go to Park City!

If you love waiting in line, crappy lodges, unfriendly people, and poor snow conditions then don't go to Snowbasin! You'll be disappointed, we maybe waited 5 minutes for the Gondola during the busiest part of the day, the lodges are awesome and so fun inside, everyone is friendly and wants to chat and the snow conditions totally rocked! We were still seeing grooming marks on some of the trails at 3pm!

I can't wait to go back, I hope I don't see you there! :)

Snowbasin is a dream. This place hosted olympic events in 2002, so it was seriously spruced up. The bathrooms are super fancy, the dining facilities are amazing and the food it delicious! The skiing is great, but it gets really crowded on holidays and Saturdays. Top notch skiing. This is where you take your out of town guests who want a deluxe skiing experience!

Off to the side og the main lodge there are trails maintained by the US Forest Service. This area is great for hiking & Mt. Biking. Some of the trail can be used for hores as well. This is a forested area with lost of wild life. I have seen Moose & Deer in the past. Ther is a old campground in the area called the Maples. Some people still camp in the area but it is very rustic. There is a single picnic table at the enterance to the loop trail. This is a no fee use area.
