I was recently visiting the USA from Australian and had the good fortune to stay at the Residence Inn from 10'th - 14'th February with my two adult sons whilst on a skiing side trip. We had a very comfortable two bedroom suite and found the Inn to be a perfect base for our skiing. The staff were very friendly and helpful whilst restaurants, ski rental and stores are all within 10 minutes drive. The daily breakfasts are good and the barbeque evening was a pleasant surprise.
The Inn is a simple freeway drive from the airport and around 15-20 minutes easy canyon drive from amazing skiing at Alta / Snowbird.
With the aid of an Inn shuttle service to a nearby bus stop, one of my sons found the mountain commuter bus service to be a very friendly alternative way to get to the ski resorts.
I certainly hope the opportunity arises again in the near future for a return winter visit to the Residence Inn.

Thank you for your comments and the time you took to write a review of your winter ski trip. We are glad that your son was able to use the UTA ski bus while you were here. It is nice to have a choice of transportation close by when you need to get up and down the canyon! We appreciate being your home base in Utah and hope that you will be able to stay with us again soon.

We like to stay at Residence Inns because of the spacious clean rooms, and good hospitality. The room met our expectations, except the view through one of the windows was clouded because of a malfunction between the glass panes. The elevator was not as clean as we normally find in Marriott properties which surprised us. The bed was comfortable and there was a nice gas fireplace in the corner of the room. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of items to meet our tastes. We didn't expect the outdoor pool and hot tub to be open in early March, but is apparently open year round. The staff were friendly.
This hotel is located near ski areas and caters to skiers.

Your review is really appreciated! Thank you for staying with us while you were in Salt Lake City. Many guests are surprised to find, as you discovered, that our outdoor pool is heated. Though it is outdoors next to the Jacuzzi, they are both in use year round. It is a real experience to look at those beautiful Wasatch mountains covered with snow while you are swimming laps in the pool! We also appreciate your comment about the elevator and windows. We will shortly complete the project to replace the cloudy windows with sparking clear windows. We also have made the elevator maintenance team aware of your comments. Thank you again for staying with us and for your review.

A group of us stayed recently due to the loss of one of the group member's mother. The group had to be scheduled at the last minute for obvious reasons and the sales team and the management team worked with us very flexibly, everyone was very kind and understanding, they went out of their way to accommodate our last minute and unusual requests, and overall were just nice people to work with. They offered us very competitive rates despite the last minute nature and up and down room numbers as our group members determined whether or not they would be coming. And the rooms were great--having a suite is nice, they're clean, nicely equipped for the slightly long stay we had, especially in this situation it was nice to have kitchen amenities, and they were comfortable--nice after a long and unpleasant day to unwind a bit with a fireplace in the room. Amazing breakfast as well. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Room Tip: Quiet area of town, not sure there would be a bad room.
