One of our favorite restaurants when visiting Holladay Utah. Layla's is in a quiet corner of the neighborhood and serves wonderful mediterranean food. The service is always so friendly and prompt, and the food is amazing. We always get the eggplant moussaka...it is a family favorite. The hummus is great, and the kids love the seasoned fries. We will be back again.....and again.....and again. Don't miss it!

Layla Mediterranean Grill offers a nice selection of mezzas and larger plates in an adult-friendly, slightly metropolitan restaurant. Interior is white with tables divided between two smallish dining areas of this L-shaped building. Nice finishes, although it would benefit from table clothes and upholstered seating as the restaurant gets very loud when full. No background music (that I could detect) detracted a bit from the dining experience as there was nothing to help distract you from the noise of other diners.

That said, we had a very good waiter and the food was very good to excellent. Biggest hits of the night were the lamb sausage mezza (small aromatic sausages in a light wine sauce), the Fitayer Spinach Pie (very fresh and flavorful filling), and an artichoke hearts special. They also have Arak, which is extremely hard to find here in Utah. Spring for the more expensive Massaya Arak - it is truly outstanding.

I'd quibble a bit on the timing of our meal. The runners coming out from the kitchen brought things too quickly and were a little too intent on taking away plates (which we wanted to keep so we could dip bread in it). I also think the choice of "American" rolls instead of pita & the soup of the day (clam chowder) were not in keeping with the rest of the menu. Strange to see those there.

Overall, a nice place for a dinner date or with a small group of friends who like to share small plates. A bit chaotic, so not really a romantic restaurant. Definitely NOT a place for kids.

An attractive restaurant with interesting art and excellent service. We were there at lunchtime on a Friday. They had some delivery orders going out but other us the restaurant was empty. We had the lamb and the chicken shish kebab lunch specials, which came with rice and a nice little salad. The kebabs were good but nothing to get excited about. Next time we’ll have to try something more interesting.

Excellent value for the $. Especially liked the lamb, kofta, salads. The hummus was fresh and went well with the toasted pita bread. Had issue with Ayran- the salt yougurt drink- it was date expired by more than 2 months! The owner was very nice and helpful to our party of 6. We live local and visit about once a month.
