Rooms are clean and quiet, mattresses are comfortable, and room rates are totally reasonable given the fact that they have no real competition. They also now offer a free breakfast at Stan's- didn't try it because I like Blondie's across the street so much-but might another time. Folks who run the place are also helpfu land friendly. Our check in of 6 rooms wasn't too efficient but that is a small potatoes.

They've upgraded the quality of rooms but not the prices. The new management is professional, warm and friendly. They make the whole town work better for visitors. It's a pleasure to rest here after a 500-mile drive or a camping trip in the desert. The free continental breakfast is nice and new this trip. We didn't have reservations. No problem. Way better than when we stayed here a few years ago.

Room Tip: We loved the cabins.

The best thing about staying in a smaller-scale motel is the easy check-in. Upon arrival, the wonderful clerk had our reservation on hand and handled within two minutes. The clerk was friendly and gracious and offered suggestions for dining (even though Hanksville is a tiny town, it was still nice to be provided with options). The room was very clean and adequate for our needs. The management seems to take pride in the facility by way if their service and the overall condition of the motel. And the rate was excellent!

Coming into Hanksville in the evening with a reservation here and not knowing what you are going to get could be deceiving...this place is a GEM! It is clean, well maintained, comfortable, VERY reasonably priced and staffed by friendly and considerate people! The bed was VERY comfortable, the TV was a big flat screen, the rooms were very quiet and overall this was a very good experience.

Our experience at the Whispering Sands was top notch. Clean rooms, comfy beds and WONDERFUL staff! Jill was so friendly and helpful, she made our spring break much better! The atmosphere was great and it was a nice quite stay.

Room Tip: Stay in a cabin, no upstairs neighbors!

Stayed here on March 25th, 2013 after a long drive down Echo Canyon. Paid $55 for the night in cabin 101. Checked in at 6:30 PM and just got in under the wire as the motel quickly filled. Very comfortable facility. Incredibly clean operation. Very comfortable beds. Flat screen cable TV. Frig, microwave, hair dryer. Bathroom is very small but clean and has the hottest water I have ever encountered in a hotel. Good towels and linens. Plenty of storage for clothing.

Good sound proofing between walls. The place was full of guests yet we heard nothing from them.
Coffee maker with plenty of coffee but for some reason there was no cream or sugar provided.

Overpriced convenience store behind motel so bring your own snacks. Stan's Burger Shak and Blondies breakfast joint are the only eateries in town along with a Pizzaria that delivers.

Friendly motel management. Be advised that the price we paid for the room was the off season rate and beginning on April 1st summer rates are in effect. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Choose one of the cabins for a quieter environment.
