Clean, functional rooms - great for a passing visit. Friendly owners who were very helpful in recommending places to eat. Surprisingly little noise from the freeway. That said, Green River felt a little sketchy - lot of abandoned motels/shops/houses. A passing through kindof town.

We had an enjoyable stay at Robbers Roost. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. I would recommend this motel, especially for people travelling by train as it is within walking distance of the Amtrak Station.

I stayed at the Robbers Roost while on a month-long drilling project in Green River. The hotel itself is older and some of the rooms are a tad on the shabby side, but others have been remodeled and are very nice. As I understand it, they are in the process of remodeling every room. Some reviews here complain about the rooms, but I always found them to be very clean and comfortable, with everything in working order.

A very sweet young couple owns and runs the motel, and I have to say, they are some great people. They will bend over backward to accommodate your needs, and are very attentive. More than once I had an unusual request, and they went above and beyond to make it happen for me. I will stay here on future visits to green river without question.

After reading all the reviews and considering prices, I booked a night at Robbers Roost.

I didn't expect much-just a clean room.

We arrived just before dinner after a long day on the road.

We were able to pull right up to our room, which was a plus.

Our room, 12, was tiny. I jokingly told family we walked in the door and jumped in the bed. It was not that bad but it was small. We put our suitcase in the room and headed to a recommended restaurant. Before leaving, we looked around the property which was a mistake. The area behind the rooms was a mess. Almost scary. I recommend they take care of that asap.

After dinner, we went back to the motel. Really, our only option was to get in bed to watch tv. There was a small table with one chair in one corner next to the bed and a nightstand on the other side.
The full bed was not comfortable but the owner did provide an extra pillow at my request.

Other improvements that should be made are
a second lock on the door-did not feel very secure.
darker curtains-I felt like everyone could see in while we were watching tv.

Would I stay there again? No. But it is doubtful I would stay in that town again.
I do think the owners are working on making it nice. It was very clean and you could tell they were making an effort.

Thank you for your comments on our room and property. The single queen rooms are smaller, but cozy and clean. All of our rooms have either a queens or a king available in the rooms.

We are dismantling an older building in the back of the motel and that is what the mess is from. We do have a plan to have that project completed soon.

We will work on getting the other improvements you suggested completed very soon.

We stayed here 7/12/12 old dirty, looks like it hasn't be remodled ever. Bed was higher on one side. Your better off sleeping in your car than staying here. Best thing about this place was leaving it behind.

We apologize for what seemed like a horrible stay. We pride ourselves on customer service and the cleanliness of our rooms. True the motel is older, but we have done several things to each room to work on them and update them to make the rooms as nice and comfortable as possible.

We do wish you would have come talk to us about the room so we can fix what the problem was. We would have also given you a refund for the room if you felt it was so bad to stay in. Please come talk to us. Most of the time we might not know what is wrong with a room unless a customer tells us.

Green River UT is basically in the middle of nowhere on the way to somewhere. We love it and had spent the day plunking around out of the way Canyons for petrogylphs. Looks like the recession has hit Green River hard with lots of closed businesses.....slim pickens for food and nothing to do! But Robbers Roost was a great bargain and immaculately clean!
Bathroom was brand new tile and fixtures, bed linens were also new. Room had a fridge, micro and tv - HBO and cable and free wi-fi - GET THE CODE!!
No coffee or ice on site - go down to the truck stop.
Our AC was quiet and staff really great.

Room Tip: Coffee and ice available at the truck stop - no alarm clock in the room - get wifi code at check in...

We booked this very, modestly-priced, room based on the reviews, and we were not disappointed. It has been many, many years since we have stayed in an "old fashioned" motel, but we knew enough not to expect the same services that we have in our more modern chain hotels with reward cards: coffee pot, breakfast, hair dryer, etc. What we did enjoy, however, were very clean rooms, bright lighting, a comfortable bed, and owners that were both friendly and helpful. We stayed two different nights during our travels. The first night we had one of the redecorated rooms, and it was definitely in better condition. Perhaps if we had been in the older room, first, we might have been more skeptical. The motel was full both nights we were there, but there was little noise. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, including our walk to the local grocery store and dinner at the Mexican restaurant.
