East entrance on Business I-70 to Green River brings you to this lovely museum on the banks of the Green River. Displays make evident the courage of these early explorers. The Museum's store is worth more than a glance. Friendly staff.

“Great small town museum”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

We were just passing through on our way home from a 2 week vacation. After spending the entire morning at Arches National Park we were pretty pooped out and only stopped in Green River to eat. When we saw the sign for the Museum we decided to give it a try. It is worth going out of your way for this gem. You could literally spend half a day in here. Don't miss it. It is much more than a river history museum.

“Great Staff”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

We had no intention of going in, but the staff was so great we thought we'd go ahead and explore. Interesting information and reasonably priced. I think we paid $16 for the family. Information available on other nearby attractions and everyone was really helpful and pleasant.

“an excellent small town museum”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

John Wesley Powell was one of the most important explorers in western history, and this museum is an excellent accounting of his adventures and their importance. The exhibits are very well done--informative and clear. The film on Powell's river trip down the Green and Colorado Rivers is very creatively done. This museum is definitely worth an hour or two.

“Great Small Museum”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

We went here in 2006, not this trip. However, this museum provides an in depth look at Powell's exploration of the Colorado and Green Rivers. For anyone interested in the Colorado Plateau it is a must.
